About the Role

Reliable Global Exim Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and responsible Transport Manager to manage our transportation operations, fleet/vendor coordination, container movement, route planning, and transportation costs. The candidate should have strong knowledge of the CHA & Freight Forwarding industry and established contacts with transporters across Mumbai, Maharashtra and other major locations in India.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day transportation operations for import/export shipments.
- Coordinate with transporters, truck owners, fleet operators and vendors for timely vehicle placement.
- Maintain and regularly update the transporter/vendor database, including contact details, vehicle availability, routes, rates and performance.
- Have robust knowledge of transportation routes across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, JNPT, Nhava Sheva, Maharashtra, Pune and Gujarat, as well as major Pan-India routes.
- Negotiate with transporters and obtain the best possible transportation rates for different locations and shipment requirements.
- Compare transporter rates and select cost-effective and reliable vendors.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of transport vendors for regular and emergency requirements.
- Coordinate 20-feet and 40-feet container movements, including vehicle arrangement, pickup, delivery and empty container return.
- Have knowledge of container transportation requirements,



trailer types, vehicle capacity and basic container/trailer maintenance.
- Coordinate with drivers, transporters, CHA teams, shipping lines, CFS/ICD and customers for smooth movement of containers.
- Monitor vehicle placement, pickup, loading, unloading and delivery schedules.
- Track vehicles and shipments and ensure timely delivery.
- Handle delays, breakdowns, route issues, detention/demurrage-related situations and other transportation challenges.
- Verify transportation bills, freight charges, detention charges, tolls and other applicable expenses before submitting them for payment.
- Maintain transportation cost records and prepare regular reports.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs without compromising service quality.
- Ensure proper documentation for every vehicle movement and shipment.
- Monitor transporter performance, service quality and adherence to agreed rates.
- Build long-term relationships with reliable transporters and negotiate annual/regular rate contracts where required.
- Handle transportation requirements on a Pan-India basis whenever required.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable transportation/documentation requirements.

Required Skills & Knowledge

- Strong knowledge of CHA, Freight Forwarding,



Import & Export logistics.
- Valuable knowledge of container transportation and logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of 20 FT and 40 FT containers and suitable trailer/vehicle requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of Mumbai–JNPT/Nhava Sheva routes, Maharashtra, Pune and Gujarat routes.
- Knowledge of major Pan-India transportation routes will be preferred.
- Strong transporter/vendor network and ability to arrange vehicles at short notice.
- Excellent rate negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good knowledge of transportation market rates and ability to identify competitive rates.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle placement, tracking and delivery coordination.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets for maintaining vendor, rate and shipment data.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent transportation requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred Experience

- 5+ years of relevant experience in Transport Management, Logistics, CHA, Freight Forwarding or Container Transportation.
- Candidates with existing transporter/vendor contacts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Pune and Gujarat will be preferred.
- Experience handling EXIM/container transportation will be highly preferred.
- Candidates who can join immediately will be given preference.
