Job Summary
As a VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise cloud automation and self-service infrastructure solutions. You will leverage VMware Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation), VMware vSphere, and related cloud technologies to automate provisioning, orchestration, governance, and lifecycle management across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. The role requires close collaboration with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to deliver scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain VMware Aria Automation (vRA) blueprints, templates, and automation workflows.Implement self-service catalog offerings for virtual machines, infrastructure services, and application deployments.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle operations.Administer and support VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and vRA platforms.Integrate vRA with enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Active Directory, monitoring tools, and cloud platforms.Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using automation and orchestration best practices.Troubleshoot provisioning failures, performance issues, and platform-related incidents.Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to support hybrid cloud deployments across VMware Cloud, AWS, and Azure.Manage incidents, service requests, changes, and problem records in accordance with ITIL processes.Monitor platform health and capacity, implementing proactive improvements to optimize performance and reliability.Support platform upgrades, patching activities, and release implementations.Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks,
and knowledge articles.Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation maturity.

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
Other Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience supporting VMware infrastructure and automation platforms.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.Experience working in enterprise-scale virtualized environments.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work effectively in a global support and delivery environment.Experience with Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP, VMware Aria Automation, or VMware Cloud certifications are preferred.Experience with infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, and automation initiatives is highly desirable.Exposure to AI-assisted automation, operational analytics, and self-healing infrastructure concepts is an added advantage.Experience supporting regulated industries such as Healthcare, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or Financial Services is preferred.
