Job Title: Legal Counsel – Cyber Law & IPR

Location: Mumbai

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Legal Counsel – Cyber Law & Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to manage legal matters relating to cybercrime, digital evidence, technology law, data privacy, and intellectual property. The ideal candidate should have strong litigation experience across civil and criminal matters, excellent legal drafting skills, and a sound understanding of Indian and international cyber and technology laws.

The candidate will be responsible for independently handling legal matters, supporting litigation and investigations, coordinating with external counsels, and providing strategic legal advice on cyber, technology, data privacy, and IPR-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle and manage cybercrime, cyber law, digital evidence, and IPR infringement matters.
- Represent and support the organization in civil and criminal litigation before courts and relevant authorities.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and filing legal notices, complaints, FIRs, petitions, affidavits, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal assistance in charge-sheet preparation, criminal proceedings, investigations, and court trials.
- Handle matters involving digital evidence, cyber forensics, electronic records, and forensic document examination.
- Review forensic reports and assist in preparing legal and evidentiary documentation.
- Conduct legal research and provide advice on technology law, cybersecurity, data protection, privacy, and intellectual property.
- Coordinate with internal teams, law-enforcement agencies, forensic experts, external counsels, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in Indian and international cyber, privacy, technology, and IPR regulations.
- Independently manage litigation matters and ensure timely filing, compliance,



documentation, and follow-up.
- Support the organization in developing appropriate legal strategies for complex cyber and technology-related disputes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- LLB or LLM from a recognized university. Candidates from National Law Universities (NLUs) will be preferred.
- 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience in litigation, corporate legal practice, law firms, or legal departments.
- Experience appearing before or handling matters relating to Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, Tribunals, or other judicial/quasi-judicial authorities.
- Proven experience in cybercrime, digital evidence, IPR disputes, and technology-related litigation.
- Strong hands-on experience in both civil and criminal litigation.
- Certification or specialized qualification in Cyber Law, Cybersecurity Law, or Technology Law will be an added advantage.

Technical & Legal Expertise

The candidate should have strong knowledge of:

- Information Technology Act, 2000
- Digital and Electronic Evidence Laws
- Indian Evidence Act / applicable evidence laws
- Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Laws
- Intellectual Property Rights, including Copyright, Trademark, Patent, and Trade Secret matters
- Data Privacy and Protection Laws
- GDPR and international data protection frameworks
- Global IT and Technology Laws
- WIPO regulations and intellectual property frameworks
- WTO/TRIPS provisions relating to Intellectual Property
- Cyber Forensics and Digital Investigations
- Electronic records and admissibility of digital evidence




- Technology contracts, legal compliance, and regulatory requirements

Litigation & Drafting Skills

Strong practical experience in:

- Court trials and litigation proceedings
- Legal notices and replies
- FIR drafting, review, and legal complaints
- Petitions, affidavits, written submissions, and pleadings
- Charge-sheet-related legal assistance
- Agreements and technology-related contracts
- Digital evidence documentation
- Forensic document examination and report preparation
- Legal research, case analysis, and preparation of legal opinions

Preferred Skills

- Experience working on cyber forensics, digital investigations, and electronic evidence.
- Ability to independently manage complex litigation and legal matters.
- Strong experience coordinating with external counsels, investigators, forensic experts, and law-enforcement authorities.
- Excellent analytical, legal research, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of technology risk, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and cybersecurity laws.
- Published articles or research papers in reputed legal journals, publications, or professional magazines will be an added advantage.

Language Requirement

- Proficiency in Marathi – Reading, Writing, and Speaking – is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in English is required.

Location Preference

Candidates currently based in Mumbai or those who are willing to relocate to Mumbai will be preferred.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a solid litigation professional with specialized expertise in Cyber Law, IPR, Digital Evidence, Data Privacy, and Technology Law, capable of independently handling complex legal matters while providing practical and commercially sound legal advice to the organization.

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹3,500,000.00 per year
