The Enterprise Digital Product Office (EDPO) at Optum is a centralized organization focused on accelerating digital transformation across the enterprise. The team partners across business, technology, and operations to design, build, and scale product-centric solutions that improve customer experiences, optimize operational workflows, and deliver measurable business outcomes. The team drives consistency in product strategy, agile delivery, and design practices, enabling teams to operate with greater speed, clarity, and impact. By aligning cross-functional stakeholders and leveraging modern technologies-including cloud platforms, data, and AI-the organization supports the development of scalable, user-centered solutions that help advance Optum's mission to build a more effective and equitable health care system.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide support for the Enterprise digital product team on optum.com, and other Optum sites as neededLead the end-to-end design of complex product initiatives, from discovery and concept development through delivery and continuous improvementCreate user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and information architecture artifactsExplore emerging opportunities in the digital healthcare space and contribute ideas as neededTranslate user research, analytics, and business insights into design strategies that balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibilityContinually advocate for the user and ensure there is a shared understanding of the problems we are solvingPartner with research and content teams to align on user needs, messaging, and experience designCollaborate with product, engineering,



and cross-functional partners to deliver cohesive UX solutionsParticipate in design critiques and incorporate feedback from stakeholdersTake ownership of UX design execution across features or small to mid-sized experiencesSupport development of site maps, navigation systems, and information architecture structuresEnsure designs align with usability, accessibility (A11y), and technical feasibility considerationsMaintain a design culture of simple, seamless, and intuitive user experiencesCollaborate with other designers to ensure consistency and quality across experiencesSupport research efforts and translate findings into design improvementsEffectively communicate design ideas, approach, and progress with stakeholders and team membersWork across multiple projects and balance competing prioritiesLeverage AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve research, ideation, documentation, and design workflows while helping identify opportunities to increase team effectivenessMentor and provide constructive feedback to other designers, helping elevate design quality and foster a collaborative learning cultureCollaborate effectively with globally distributed teams, including partners across multiple time zones, while communicating design decisions clearly and confidentlyPartner closely with engineering throughout implementation to ensure high-quality execution through design reviews and quality assuranceComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience7+ years of Experience7+ years of hands-on experience with UX design, interaction design,



or information architecture7+ years of experience working with multiple teams and competing priorities7+ years incorporating user feedback in the design process (user research, NPS, Voice of the customer)7+ years of experience with industry design tools (Figma, Figjam, Figma Make, Adobe Creative Suite)7+ years of experience working in cross functional teams3+ years of experience building and/or utilizing personas to inform design decisions3+ years of experience presenting design work to stakeholdersExperience translating research insights into actionable design solutionsSolid understanding of information architecture, user flows, and journey mappingProven ability to clearly communicate design rationale and collaborate effectively with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven ability to contribute in a fast-paced, complex setting with evolving prioritiesExperience working with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)Experience collaborating with global teams, including U.S.-based stakeholdersHealthcare experience is preferred but not required. Experience designing products in similarly complex or regulated industries including insurance, financial services, retail, telecommunications, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or enterprise software is also valuedExperience working in a large corporate or matrixed organizationExperience using AI-enabled tools to enhance research, ideation, documentation, or design workflowsFamiliarity with Agile teams, including sprint planning and collaboration with product and engineeringProven solid attention to detail and commitment to high-quality design executionProven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teamsProven willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a dynamic design environmentProven ability to contribute to alignment on scope, deliverables, and timelines
