Position: New Product Development (NPD) Engineer
Location: Hyderabad, India

Job Summary
Foxx Life Sciences is looking for a passionate and results-driven Current Product Development (NPD) Engineer to support the design, development, tooling, validation, and commercialization of innovative plastic injection molded products for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and life sciences industries. The candidate will play a key role in transforming product concepts into manufacturable, high-quality products while working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and external tooling partners.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
· Design and develop new plastic injection molded products and product improvements.
· Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and assembly documentation using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
· Evaluate product feasibility, functionality, manufacturability, and cost.
· Develop product concepts based on customer requirements, market trends, and business needs.
· Prepare and maintain design documentation, product specifications, and technical files.
Injection Mold & Tooling Development
· Work closely with mold makers and suppliers during mold design and development.
· Review mold designs for manufacturability, cycle time optimization, and quality improvement.
· Participate in mold trials, validation activities, and first article inspections.
· Analyze molding defects and implement corrective actions.
· Support mold qualification, mold maintenance recommendations, and tooling improvements.
Product Validation & Testing
· Develop product testing protocols and validation plans.
· Conduct dimensional, functional, environmental, and performance testing.
· Support Design Verification (DV), Design Validation (PV), and Process Validation activities.
· Analyze test data and prepare validation reports.
Manufacturing Support
· Coordinate product transfer from development to manufacturing.
· Support pilot production runs and new product launches.
· Work with production teams to optimize molding parameters and assembly processes.
· Troubleshoot production and quality issues related to new products.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and reduce manufacturing costs.
Project Management
· Manage NPD projects from concept through commercialization.
· Coordinate activities with suppliers, tooling vendors, and internal stakeholders.
· Track project timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
· Ensure projects are completed within target schedules and cost objectives.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
· Ensure product development activities comply with company quality systems.
· Support ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 documentation requirements where applicable.
· Participate in risk assessments, FMEA studies, and design reviews.
· Maintain engineering change records and revision control documentation.
Cost Reduction & Innovation
· Identify opportunities for cost reduction through material selection, design optimization, and process improvements.
· Evaluate new materials, manufacturing technologies, and industry innovations.
· Support value engineering initiatives and product enhancement projects.
Qualifications/
Education:
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Production Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
· 3 to 5 years of experience in New Product Development, Product Design, Injection Molding, or Manufacturing Engineering.
· Experience with plastic injection molded products is mandatory.
· Experience in laboratory consumables, medical devices, bioprocess products, or life science products is preferred.
Technical Skills:
· Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent 3D CAD software.
· Good understanding of plastic material selection and injection molding processes.
· Knowledge of mold design, tooling development, and mold qualification.
· Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing), GD&T;, and tolerance analysis.
· Familiarity with validation protocols, FMEA, and root cause analysis tools.
· Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
Soft Skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per month
