Teachers play a central role in our mission of creating a safe, nurturing, learning setting for children coming from some of the most vulnerable sections of society.The opportunity:A unique opportunity to create high quality English medium classrooms in Government Schools and help children adapt quickly to new medium of learning at various grade levels. The content and methodology created for these classrooms if successfully deployed, will become a model for the state department to deploy similar high achievement English Medium classrooms across the state.The role: As a teacher at the school, you will be directly responsible for at least 30 children in a class. Your role will be to guide the students towards academic achievement while inculcating the core values aligned to the School Vision. You will create a safe environment of high achievement coupled with fun learning in the classrooms. You will develop strong relationships with the parent community to ensure that children are completely supported in their journey to achieve their dreams and aspirations.Your role will include:Teaching the prescribed curriculum through effective pedagogical practicesDesigning and executing lesson plans that will engage studentsDesigning assessments that thoughtfully evaluate student progressVarying teaching strategies and styles to meet different learning needsCreating a welcoming and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to participate and engage without fearEnsuring class rules and norms are followed consistently by all students to create a safe and enabling environment for all learnersProviding a positive workplace to engage students in the learning processEstablishing and maintaining a co-operative working relationships with students, parents, community and the school teamActively participating in network opportunities for professional developmentAttending and participating in all school training and meetingsMeeting professional obligations through efficient work habitsActively organising all extra-curricular and celebratory activities and events in schoolMaking occasional community visits to stay connected with parentsThe challenge: You will work with children who have little or no exposure to English Language. Many might have had no formal schooling before entering your classroom. Therefore, you can expect a huge gap to grade.Children come from difficult backgrounds and face abuse and neglect at their homes. The problem is compounded with device addiction in many cases. This can result in behavioural issues at school. Teachers are expected to work closely with parents to address these problems.The English medium classrooms will be run independently by this team. However,



this will run in Government School premises and within the Government policies and framework that will impose certain constraints.You must be willing to spend extra hours after school to help children who need additional support.The SupportYou will be provided with the following support:a safe teaching & learning environment for students and teachersany additional classroom resources to enable efficient transaction of lessonsIntensive and ongoing teacher training as part of Inventure’s Professional Development programCurriculum design support and reviewsAccess to Inventure Academy’s teaching and Learning Materials that can be adopted for these classrooms as neededClass observation and feedback sessions for teachers to help improve effectiveness in teachingMentoring and guidance by the Curriculum Lead and School LeadGuidance and mentoring for teachers to manage student behaviour related issues.Counselling support for students and parents in severe cases.What you need for this Position Experience:Candidates with relevant teaching experience and passion for working in these environmentsMost importantly passion and commitment to transform lives of these children through educationKnowledge/Skills: Strong content knowledgeLove for children and learningAdaptability to new instructional approachesFlexibility to work extended hours for accommodating student needs during online classesPatience and capacity to solve problemsGood planning and organizing skillsStrong team playerSelf-motivated with strong work ethics to achieve school goalsOpenness to feedback and critical reflectionStrong oral and written communication skills in EnglishWorking Knowledge of Hindi/Kannada will be most usefulAbility to work with the team and willingness to support other team members as requiredEducation: Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Mathematics/ related field.1-4 years of hands on experience in teaching mathematics to primary grades (Upper primary experience is a plus)Immediate Joiners preferred.
