Job DescriptionManagement Accountant NRole PurposenThe Management Accountant will support the UK & Ireland Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls and providing insightful financial analysis across the UK & Ireland business. NThe role is responsible for delivering high-quality management accounting, maintaining balance sheet integrity, supporting budgeting and forecasting, coordinating intercompany accounting activities, assisting with statutory reporting and supporting continuous improvement across the finance function. NThis is a hands-on role within a cooperative finance team, requiring a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a willingness to support the wider finance team where required. NKey ResponsibilitiesnManagement Accounting & Financial Reporting Nn Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and supporting analysis for assigned entities and business areas. N Perform month-end closeactivities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments. N Prepare monthly reporting packs with clear financial commentary and variance analysis. N Ensure reporting deadlines are achieved accurately and on time. NnCost Accounting & Financial Analysis Nn Prepare and analyse Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), overhead expenditure, gross margins and business performance. N Review cost allocationsand ensure costs are accurately recorded across the business. N Support profitability analysis by customer, business unit, service line or project where appropriate. N Produce financial analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities, supporting operational and commercial decision-making.
NnIntercompany Accounting Nn Lead the monthly intercompany journal process and trading reconciliations across relevant entities. N Investigate and resolveintercompany differences in collaboration with UK and overseas finance teams. N Ensure intercompany balances are accurately recorded and fully supported. NnBalance Sheet Control Nn Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations. N Maintain the integrity of assigned balance sheet accounts through regular review and investigation. N Resolve reconciling items promptly and maintain appropriate supporting documentation. N Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities as required. NnBudgeting, Forecasting & Planning Nn Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning activities. N Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast. N Support financial modelling and ad hoc planning exercises where required. NnStatutory Reporting & Compliance Nn Support statutoryreporting, year-end accounts and external audit requirements. N Prepare supporting schedules and ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and internal controls. N Support tax and other regulatory reporting activities where required. NnBusiness & Stakeholder Support Nn Build effective working relationships across Finance, Operations and Sales.
N Provide timely financial information and analysis to support business decision-making. N Respond to ad hoc financial queries and reporting requests from stakeholders. NnContinuous Improvement & Team Support Nn Support continuous improvement of finance processes, systems and reporting. N Contribute to finance transformation and business improvement projects. N Support the wider UK & Ireland Finance team where required. N Undertake other financeand reporting responsibilities appropriate to the role. NnSkills, Knowledge & Experience NEssentialnn Part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA. N Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in Management Accounting or Financial Accounting. N Experience preparing management accounts, month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations. N Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and basic statutory reporting requirements. N Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data. N Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills. N Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines. N Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Finance, Operations and Sales teams. NnDesirablen N Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV or a similar ERP system. N Experience working within a multi-entity environment. N Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations. N Experience supporting audit processes. N Experience with financial reporting tools such as Power BI. N Exposure to finance process improvement or transformation projects. NnRegards,nHR Team
