Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Development Head to lead our Software Development function. The incumbent will be responsible for defining the technology roadmap, leading development teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software products, and driving technical excellence across projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in software architecture, application development, team leadership, technology strategy, Agile delivery, DevOps, and stakeholder management.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Strategy

- Define and drive the overall software development and technology strategy.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for software products and applications.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, tools, and development methodologies.
- Ensure software architecture is scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable.
- Establish development standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.

2. Software Development & Delivery

- Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle from requirement analysis to production deployment.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within defined scope, quality, timelines, and budget.
- Review technical designs, architecture, and critical code components.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address technical and delivery risks.
- Ensure effective coordination between Development, QA/QC, Product, DevOps, UI/UX, and Project Management teams.
- Drive timely resolution of development bottlenecks and production issues.

3. Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing software development team.
- Define KRAs, KPIs, and performance expectations for development team members.




- Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects and priorities.
- Conduct regular technical reviews and performance discussions.
- Identify skill gaps and implement technical training and capability-building initiatives.

4. Architecture, Quality & Security

- Ensure adherence to secure coding practices and application security standards.
- Drive code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality.
- Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability requirements.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to minimize defects and improve overall product quality.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical technical and production issues.
- Establish preventive measures to avoid recurring technical failures.

5. Agile & DevOps

- Drive Agile/Scrum development practices across teams.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Ensure effective source code management, version control, and release management.
- Promote automation in development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

6. Stakeholder & Management Coordination

- Collaborate with senior management and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in project planning, effort estimation, technology decisions, and risk assessment.
- Provide regular updates to management on project status, technical risks, resource requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Manage expectations and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in most of the following areas:





- Software Architecture and Solution Design
- Enterprise Application Development
- PHP/Java / Node.js or equivalent technology stack
- Microservices Architecture
- REST APIs and Web Services
- Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Database Technologies – SQL and NoSQL
- System Integration and API Management
- CI/CD and DevOps Practices
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Git and Source Code Management
- Application Performance Optimization
- Application Security and Secure Coding Practices
- Agile/Scrum Methodology

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications in Cloud, Architecture, Agile, DevOps, or Project Management will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Software Development.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in a Technical Lead, Engineering Manager, Development Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale or enterprise software development projects.
- Experience in managing cross-functional and multi-technology development teams.
