Introduction:
The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of fund
accounting services for a portfolio of investment funds within a fund
administration environment. The role includes end‑to‑end accountability for fund
financial reporting, governance, and client service, while managing day‑to‑day
accounting activities performed by the India team.
Key Responsibilities:
Fund Accounting Oversight
* Maintain overall responsibility for accurate and timely delivery of NAVs,
management accounts, investor reporting, and statutory financial statements.
* Review and sign off on key deliverables prepared by the senior fund
accountants / assistant managers.
* Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and
regulatory requirements.
Team Management
* Oversee day‑to‑day fund accounting activities performed by India team,
including bookkeeping, reconciliations, NAV calculations, and investor
allocations.
* Set clear expectations, timelines,
and quality standards and client
deliverables.
* Review error logs, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement
initiatives with India teams.
* Provide technical guidance, feedback, and training to India team preparers
and reviewers.
* Coordinate workload planning and capacity management with India managers.
Client & Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary contact for CSC and clients on fund accounting matters.
* Proactively manage client expectations regarding timelines, deliverables, and
issues.
* Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, depositaries, and other service
providers.
* Lead discussions on accounting matters, system changes, and service
enhancements.
Governance & Controls
* Maintain solid oversight of internal controls, checklists, and review
frameworks.
* Ensure issues are escalated appropriately and resolved within agreed
timelines.
