Role Description The Deputy General Manager of Finance is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring of all institutions under Velammal Educational Trust. This role includes managing day-to-day finance operations, such as accounts finalization, cash flow management,



payroll coordination, vendor payments, and statutory compliance. The Deputy General Manager of Finance will prepare and review financial reports, support audits, ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, and implement internal controls and risk management practices. The role also involves guiding and mentoring the finance team, collaborating with academic and administrative leadership on cost optimization, and contributing to strategic decisions through financial analysis and forecasting.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with experience managing large, multi-unit organizations.
Proficiency in accounting, financial reporting, and audit coordination, including knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance.
Experience with cash flow management, cost control, and financial risk management in a complex operational workplace.
