An annual maintenance shutdown will take place at Metsä Group’s Äänekoski bioproduct mill at the end of August and the beginning of September. The mill’s production shutdown will begin department by department on Friday morning, August 28, 2026.
In addition to the mill’s own staff, around 2,000 partner employees will be working during the shutdown.
“The annual maintenance shutdown is an important part of the mill’s annual maintenance and ensuring safe operations. During the shutdown, a large number of our own personnel and partner employees will be working on the mill site. Our common goal is to ensure that all work can be carried out safely, with high quality, and according to the planned schedule,” says Mill Manager Janne Rantanen.
The mill will gradually be restarted at the beginning of week 37.
