As a Product Analyst – Payments, you will work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations and external payment partners to analyze payment journeys, identify product and process gaps, define requirements, and drive improvements. The role requires someone who is comfortable working with large datasets, SQL, payment transactions, APIs, dashboards, and business processes, while also being able to translate analysis into actionable product requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payments Product Analytics
Analyze end-to-end payment journeys across customer payment modes and channels.
Track payment success, failure, pending, reversal, refund, and reconciliation scenarios.
Identify payment drop-offs, failure patterns, operational issues, and revenue/collection opportunities.
Perform root-cause analysis of payment-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
Analyze payment behaviour across different customer segments, products, financiers, payment modes, and payment partners.
2. Product Requirement & Development
Work with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business problems into product requirements.
Create PRDs, user stories, functional requirements, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
Work closely with Engineering and QA teams during development and testing.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, UAT, and release validation.
Ensure product changes are validated against expected business outcomes.
3. Data & SQL Analysis
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and analyze payment data.
Analyze large transaction datasets and identify trends, anomalies, and exceptions.
Create and maintain dashboards and reports for key payment metrics.
Use tools such as Snowflake, Metabase or similar BI platforms.
4. Payment Partner Management
Analyze performance of payment gateways, banks, NACH partners, and other payment service providers.
Support investigation of partner-specific payment issues.
