Role Overview
Kastech is seeking a Banner Student Functional Analyst to support implementation, enhancement,
optimization, and managed-services engagements for higher education customers. The role requires
strong functional knowledge of Ellucian Banner Student processes and the ability to translate institutional
business requirements into Banner configuration, testing, documentation, and functional solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead functional analysis and support for Ellucian Banner Student processes, configuration, and issue
resolution.
• Work with university stakeholders to understand current-state processes, business requirements, pain
points, and desired future-state outcomes.
• Configure and support Banner Student functions across areas such as general student records,
admissions processing, registration, curriculum/course catalog, academic history, grading,
degree/award processing, and related student lifecycle activities.
• Analyze functional issues, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and coordinate with Banner




technical resources where code or integration changes are required.
• Prepare functional specifications, configuration documentation, process flows, test scenarios, and user
acceptance test scripts.
• Support regression testing, system testing, UAT, go-live preparation, and post-production stabilization.
• Participate in Banner upgrades, SaaS readiness, migration, and modernization initiatives from a
Student functional perspective.
• Provide knowledge transfer and functional guidance to customer teams and offshore/onshore delivery
resources.
Required Skills & Experience
• 6+ years of relevant Ellucian Banner Student functional experience.
• Solid hands-on knowledge of Banner Student business processes and functional configuration.
• Experience in multiple Student functional areas such as student records, registration,
curriculum/catalog, academic history, grading, admissions processing, or degree/award processing.
