We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Backend to lead a high-performing backend engineering organization in Bengaluru. This role combines technical leadership, people management, architecture, and product execution, with responsibility for building scalable APIs, services, and web technologies that support business-critical experiences.

The ideal candidate will be a solid hands-on technology leader who can guide a team of engineers and managers, drive engineering excellence, and translate business and product objectives into reliable, scalable technology solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a backend engineering organization comprising engineers and engineering managers.
- Provide technical leadership for the design and development of scalable APIs, backend services, and web applications.
- Architect technically robust, flexible, highly available,



and scalable solutions for large-scale systems.
- Build, scale, and maintain microservices-based architectures.
- Establish engineering best practices covering code quality, development standards, testing, debugging, performance, and optimization.
- Remain hands-on when required and provide technical guidance on complex engineering challenges.
- Lead and mentor engineering managers and individual contributors, creating clear career paths and development opportunities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide continuous, constructive feedback.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Designers, and other stakeholders to estimate, prioritize, plan, and deliver projects.
