Position: State Project Manager (SPM)

Engagement: Full-Time

Location: West Bengal

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic State Project Manager (SPM) to lead the Project Management Unit (PMU) and support the implementation of the Women’s Economic Empowerment Project (WEP) in West Bengal.

Qualification

- Master’s degree in Management, Administration, Social Work, Rural Development , or a related discipline from a Government-recognized university/institution.

Experience

- Minimum 10 years of professional experience , preferably in the Public/Social Sector .
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing projects in a leadership capacity.
- Experience in women’s economic empowerment initiatives in West Bengal is highly desirable.
- Experience with bilateral/multilateral funded projects or Externally Aided Projects will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the overall functioning of the PMU and ensure achievement of project deliverables.
- Support day-to-day project management, planning, monitoring, stakeholder coordination and policy inputs.
- Prepare and implement Operational Guidelines and Annual Action Plans .
- Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of pilot initiatives and timely onboarding of thematic experts.
- Coordinate with World Bank, DWCDSW, Governing Body of WEP and other stakeholders .
- Lead the multidisciplinary PMU team and ensure optimum utilization of resources and expertise.
- Support policy analysis, research, M&E;, documentation and knowledge management activities.
- Represent the PMU at relevant forums, platforms and networks.
- Provide coordination support to the State Government and World Bank for achieving project objectives and DLIs.
- Undertake other assignments as required to ensure successful project implementation.
