Role Description The Web Journalist internship at AGUN is an on-site role based in Kolkata. The intern will research and develop story ideas, conduct background research, and verify information from multiple sources. Daily responsibilities include writing and editing web articles, creating engaging online content, and adapting stories for digital formats.

The intern will collaborate with the editorial team, contribute to social and video-driven storytelling, and support timely coverage of regional and Bengali-focused issues. This role offers hands-on newsroom experience, mentorship from experienced journalists, and exposure to digital publishing workflows.

Qualifications





- Robust Writing and Article Writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging stories.
- Web Content Writing experience, including structuring content for online readers and basic understanding of web publishing.
- Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, for interviews, collaboration, and audience engagement.
- Solid Research abilities, including sourcing information, fact-checking, and synthesizing complex topics.
- Interest in Bengali culture, regional issues, and socio-political topics; knowledge of Bengali language is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, manage deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced editorial environment.
- Basic familiarity with digital media tools (content management systems, social platforms, or video platforms) is beneficial.
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
