Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

- Manage and administer databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance for efficiency and scalability.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as backups, patching, and monitoring.
- Develop and enforce database policies, procedures, standards and access controls.

Data Engineering:
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our

data warehouse.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and develop data models for analytical and reporting

purposes.
- Implement ETL processes to cleanse, transform, and enrich data.
- Ensure data quality and consistency throughout the data lifecycle.

Data Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce data security best practices and access controls
- Stay current with industry regulations and best practices to ensure data compliance.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Automation and Tooling:
- Automate routine database and data engineering tasks to improve operational efficiency.

HGM
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement database and data engineering tools and technologies.
- Performance Monitoring and

Troubleshooting:
- Proactively identify and resolve database and data pipeline performance issues.




- Investigate and troubleshoot data-related issues to ensure data integrity and reliability.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including ETL, analysts, and software developers to understand

their data needs and deliver relevant solutions.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A master's degree is a

plus.
- MCDBA Certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proven experience in data engineering, including designing and building ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Solid proficiency in database performance tuning, optimization, and security.
- In-depth knowledge of database management systems, data warehousing, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-

functional teams.
- Experience with data warehouse and big data technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data

Lake Storage, Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Function apps, Azure Cognitive Services, and Containers.
- Experience with monitoring and optimizing Azure cloud data systems.
- Experience with designing and implementing data schemas.
- Experience with working in an agile environment.
