Senior QA Engineer / Test Lead (Banking Applications)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer / Test Lead with strong expertise in Banking and Financial Services testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for test planning, execution, regression validation, production-quality sign-offs, and leading QA activities across maintenance and enhancement releases.

Experience with core banking, payments, trade finance, custody, or financial messaging platforms is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare effort estimates and test plans for application enhancements, maintenance, and release activities.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
- Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing across banking applications.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Lead QA activities for projects and support junior team members with functional and technical guidance.
- Identify, track, and manage defects through closure while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Review business requirements and functional specifications to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, business users, developers, and product teams to resolve issues and validate solutions.
- Provide quality sign-off for patch releases, enhancements,



and production deployments.
- Contribute to test process improvements and automation initiatives.

Required Skills

Functional Skills

- 4+ years of Software Testing / Quality Assurance experience.
- Solid experience in Banking and Financial Services domain.
- Good understanding of Retail Banking operations and workflows.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and defect management skills.
- Experience in test planning, execution, reporting, and release validation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven team leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Must-Have Domain Experience Experience testing one or more of the following banking platforms/domains:
- Finacle
- Trade Finance
- CAD (Credit Administration)
- Custody
- Escrow
- FRSS
- TradeX
- SWIFT Messaging

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to Finastra Essence (preferred).
- Knowledge of Test Automation frameworks and tools.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar test management tools.
- Understanding of API testing and integration testing concepts.

Qualifications

- B.E. / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant QA, Banking, Agile, or Testing certifications are desirable.
