Position: Technical Manager (TM) - CBAM

Job Purpose The Technical Manager (TM) - CBAM is responsible for overseeing the operational and compliance activities related to CBAM verification and reporting services. The role ensures impartiality, accreditation compliance, effective auditor management, stakeholder coordination, and timely submission of CBAM verification reports to the CBAM Registry. The incumbent will act as a key liaison between internal teams, auditors, accreditation bodies, clients, and country representatives to ensure delivery of services in accordance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Pre-Engagement Review Management

- Review and approve pre-engagement assessments to ensure compliance with CBAM requirements and organizational procedures.
- Validate client eligibility, scope, risks, and resource availability before engagement acceptance.
- Ensure conflicts of interest and impartiality risks are identified and addressed.

2. Independent Reviewer Assignment

- Assign qualified and competent independent reviewers for CBAM verification activities.
- Ensure reviewer independence, competency, and availability.
- Monitor timely completion of independent review activities.

3. Country Coordination

- Coordinate with country offices, regional teams, and stakeholders to support CBAM verification activities.
- Facilitate communication regarding regulatory requirements, timelines, and reporting obligations.
- Resolve operational issues impacting project execution across countries.

4. CBAM Registry Management





- Ensure accurate and timely upload of verification reports and related documents to the CBAM Registry.
- Verify completeness and correctness of submissions prior to upload.
- Maintain records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

5. Auditor Management

- Manage the selection, qualification and performance monitoring of CBAM auditors.
- Ensure auditors maintain required competencies, qualifications, and training.
- Support auditor scheduling and resource planning activities.

6. Complaint Handling

- Manage customer complaints related to CBAM verification activities.
- Conduct investigations and coordinate resolution actions.
- Track complaint trends and implement corrective and preventive actions where necessary.

7. Impartiality Management

- Arrange impartiality reviews and conflict-of-interest assessments for verification activities.
- Ensure adherence to impartiality policies and accreditation requirements.
- Report and escalate impartiality concerns to relevant governance bodies.

8. Accreditation Management

- Support and manage activities related to accreditation maintenance and surveillance.
- Coordinate accreditation assessments, audits,



and corrective action closure.
- Maintain compliance with applicable accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Skilled certifications related to GHG verification, sustainability, auditing, or CBAM will be an advantage.

Experience

- 8+ years of experience in certification, assurance, compliance, sustainability, environmental management, or auditing functions.
- Experience managing auditors, accreditation processes, or verification programs.
- Knowledge of CBAM, EU regulations, greenhouse gas reporting, or conformity assessment processes is preferred.
