Technical Lead Full Stack (Angular/React, Node.js, AWS)
10–14 years | Employment type: Full-time | Location: [Hyderabad]
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Technical Lead at Cotiviti, you will own the technical direction and architecture for full-stack platforms that power mission-critical healthcare and retail applications. You will set engineering standards across the front end, back end, and cloud infrastructure, lead and mentor a team of engineers, and act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and senior stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own end-to-end architecture and technical direction for full-stack platforms built on Angular / React, TypeScript, and Node.js
- Directly lead and guide a team of 3–5 software engineers, providing day-to-day technical direction, code-level guidance, and hands-on support
- Lead the transition to an AI-first, agentic development model, where software development is performed primarily through AI agents with human oversight.
- Establish governance for AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex), including review standards to validate the correctness, security, performance, and maintainability of AI-generated code.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and remove technical blockers for the team, including cross-team dependencies, environment issues, and unclear requirements, to keep sprint and release commitments on track
- Balance hands-on coding, design, and troubleshooting with active team support, stepping in on critical issues or complex debugging when the team is stuck
- Evaluate and onboard emerging AI coding agents, MCP-based tools, and enterprise AI platforms to continuously enhance the engineering ecosystem.
- Review pulls requests and provide timely, constructive feedback to keep the team unblocked and maintain code quality
- Lead design of event-driven, microservices-based systems on AWS, including Lambda, Step Functions, Kinesis, SQS, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
- Define front-end architecture strategy, including micro-frontend approaches (Webpack Module Federation, single-spa, Nx), across multiple engineering teams
- Set and enforce engineering standards for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Own the CI/CD strategy across teams: pipeline architecture, environment promotion (dev QA staging prod), automated quality/security gates,
and deployment models such as blue-green and canary releases
- Select and standardize CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Octopus) across engineering teams, and drive metrics like deployment frequency and change failure rate
- Mentor and grow engineers on the team, conducting architecture and code reviews and guiding technical career development
- Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical roadmaps
- Serve as primary technical point of contact in client calls, production release reviews, and executive updates
- Drive secure-by-design practices across the stack, including IAM, OAuth2, and JWT-based authentication and authorization
- Own production reliability, including incident response leadership, root-cause analysis, and resiliency improvements
- Own technical debt management, tracking it systematically and prioritizing paydown against feature work
- Drive performance optimization and capacity planning across services, including load testing and scaling strategy
- Participate in hiring, including conducting technical interviews and helping raise the engineering team's hiring bar
- Own onboarding plans for new engineers joining the team, ensuring they ramp up quickly and productively
- Conduct performance reviews or provide technical input for engineers' formal performance evaluations
- Represent the team in architecture review boards or engineering guilds, aligning technical decisions with broader organizational standards
- Own technical documentation standards, including architecture decision records (ADRs), runbooks, and system diagrams
- Evaluate and drive adoption of new tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns across the engineering organization
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including significant time in a technical leadership or architecture role
- Expert-level, hands-on proficiency in both Angular and React, along with TypeScript,
with the ability to set organization-wide front-end standards
- Deep hands-on experience with Node.js for backend and API development at scale
- Have experience in Workflow based applications like Flowable or Temporal or any other
- Proven experience architecting and operating production systems on AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, Kinesis, SQS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch)
- Demonstrated experience designing microservices, event-driven architectures, and micro-frontend systems across multiple teams
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and ORM tools
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven experience owning CI/CD strategy at an organizational scale, including pipeline architecture, setting promotion, automated quality/security gates, and deployment strategies (blue-green, canary)
- Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, including IAM, OAuth2, and JWT-based authentication and authorization
- Track record of directly leading and mentoring a team of 3–5 engineers, including setting technical direction, running architecture/design reviews, and proactively removing technical blockers
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, including experience representing engineering in client-facing settings
- Sound judgment on the professional use of AI-assisted coding tools, including setting team-wide review and governance standards
- Experience managing technical debt and driving performance optimization/capacity planning for production systems
- Experience participating in technical hiring and onboarding, and providing input on engineers' performance evaluations
- Track record of maintaining technical documentation standards (ADRs, runbooks, system diagrams) and representing engineering in architecture review forums
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience in healthcare, payments, or another regulated industry
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or Octopus at an organizational scale
- Prior experience owning a technology roadmap or presenting to executive leadership
- Relevant AWS certification (Solutions Architect – Professional or similar)
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
