/n Technical Lead – Design Thinking & Methodology (DTM) /n /n 1. Role Purpose /n The Technical Lead – Design Thinking & Methodology (DTM) will be responsible for planning, delivering, and overseeing the Design Thinking & Methodology training programme at the Centre of Excellence in Design (D-CoE). The role focuses on teaching structured engineering design methodology, mentoring multidisciplinary teams, supervising design projects, and coordinating technical programmes aligned with innovation, product development, and problem-solving. /n The Technical Lead will guide participants through the complete design process, including problem identification, user research, requirement engineering, ideation, concept evaluation, simulation, and final design development while promoting a hands-on, project-based learning environment. /n /n 2.
Key Responsibilities /n 2.1 Teaching, Training & Curriculum Execution /n Design and deliver structured training modules in Design Thinking and Engineering Design Methodology. /n Deliver lectures on design principles, user-centered design, engineering problem solving, innovation, and product development. /n Conduct hands-on workshops and training programmes in offline, hybrid, and online formats. /n Train participants in structured design tools and methodologies. /n Adapt technical content to suit learners from diverse engineering, design, and multidisciplinary backgrounds. /n Lead project-based learning activities throughout the module. /n /n 2.2 Intern & Project Supervision /n Mentor interns and project teams working on product design, engineering design, and innovation projects. /n /n 2.3 Collaboration & Outreach /n Collaborate with faculty members, programme coordinators, and technical staff.
/n Engage with academic institutions, industry experts, and innovation partners. /n Contribute to outreach programmes, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives. /n Perform any other duties assigned by the organisation. /n /n 3.
Required Skills &
Competencies /n 3.1 Technical Competencies /n Robust understanding of Design Thinking and Engineering Design Methodology. /n Knowledge of Product Design and Product Development processes. /n Experience with user research and generating requirement engineering. /n Familiarity with Generative AI tools for engineering design, ideation, and design documentation. /n Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into engaging learning experiences. /n /n 3.2 Behavioural & Professional Competencies /n Excellent presentation and communication skills. /n Strong mentoring and facilitation abilities. /n Strong organisational and programme management skills. /n Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in interdisciplinary environments. /n High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative. /n /n 4.
Qualifications &
Experience /n Master's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Innovation Design, or related discipline. /n Prior experience in product design, engineering design, design consulting, innovation, or R&D.; /n Experience in teaching, technical training, or mentoring engineering/design students is preferred. /n Experience working in academic, innovation, incubation, or capacity-building environments is desirable. /n Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills. /n /n 5.
