nTechnical Lead – Design Thinking & Methodology (DTM)
nn1. Role Purpose
nThe Technical Lead – Design Thinking & Methodology (DTM) will be responsible for planning, delivering, and overseeing the Design Thinking & Methodology training programme at the Centre of Excellence in Design (D-CoE). The role focuses on teaching structured engineering design methodology, mentoring multidisciplinary teams, supervising design projects, and coordinating technical programmes aligned with innovation, product development, and problem-solving.
nThe Technical Lead will guide participants through the complete design process, including problem identification, user research, requirement engineering, ideation, concept evaluation, simulation, and final design development while promoting a hands-on, project-based learning environment.
nn2. Key Responsibilities
n2.1 Teaching, Training & Curriculum Execution
nDesign and deliver structured training modules in Design Thinking and Engineering Design Methodology.
nDeliver lectures on design principles, user-centered design, engineering problem solving, innovation, and product development.
nConduct hands-on workshops and training programmes in offline, hybrid, and online formats.
nTrain participants in structured design tools and methodologies.
nAdapt technical content to suit learners from diverse engineering, design, and multidisciplinary backgrounds.
nLead project-based learning activities throughout the module.
nn2.2 Intern & Project Supervision
nMentor interns and project teams working on product design, engineering design, and innovation projects.
nn2.3 Collaboration & Outreach
nCollaborate with faculty members, programme coordinators, and technical staff.
nEngage with academic institutions, industry experts, and innovation partners.
nContribute to outreach programmes, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
nPerform any other duties assigned by the organisation.
nn3. Required Skills & Competencies
n3.1 Technical Competencies
nStrong understanding of Design Thinking and Engineering Design Methodology.
nKnowledge of Product Design and Product Development processes.
nExperience with user research and generating requirement engineering.
nFamiliarity with Generative AI tools for engineering design, ideation, and design documentation.
nAbility to translate complex engineering concepts into engaging learning experiences.

nn4. Qualifications & Experience
nMaster's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Innovation Design, or related discipline.
nPrior experience in product design, engineering design, design consulting, innovation, or R&D.;
nExperience in teaching, technical training, or mentoring engineering/design students is preferred.
nExperience working in academic, innovation, incubation, or capacity-building environments is desirable.
nExcellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
