Position: Teaching Assistant - Public Policy

SLGPP invites applications for Teaching Assistant/Research Fellow positions—Public Policy. The appointments will support the School’s expanding interdisciplinary teaching, research, student engagement, and outreach portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist faculty in Law, Public Policy, Governance, and Development Studies courses, including tutorials, student mentoring, formative assessment, and academic coordination.
- Undertake legal and policy research, literature reviews, policy mapping, data compilation, and support the preparation of policy briefs, reports, working papers, and publications.
- Support the MA Public Policy, Law programmes, Development Studies Minor, Foundation Courses, and initiatives in ADR, public health and policy, governance, and the law-policy interface.
- Assist with faculty-led research projects, conferences, workshops, seminars, outreach, academic communication, institutional collaborations, and editorial coordination.

Eligibility and Preferred Profile





- PhD in law or master’s degree in law (LL.M.) for the Law position, or a PhD or master’s degree in public policy/public administration/political science/development studies or a closely related discipline for the Public Policy position.
- Strong academic record, research aptitude, analytical and writing skills, and ability to work effectively with students and faculty in an interdisciplinary workplace.
- Prior teaching/research assistance, publication, fieldwork, quantitative or qualitative research, or policy/legal writing experience is desirable. UGC-NET/JRF or Ph.D. registration will be an added advantage.

Engagement: Contractual engagement for 12 months. The positions may provide a pathway for candidates interested in doctoral study at SLGPP during the 2026–27 admission cycle.
