Staff Nurse (B.Sc. Nursing)
Location: Panipat, Haryana Department: Nursing, Reports to: Nursing Superintendent (NS)
Employment Type: Full-time Experience Level: 14 years
1. Job Summary The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients. The position involves assessment of patient needs, administration of medications, monitoring of vital signs, assisting doctors during treatment and procedures, maintaining nursing records, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and patient-safety standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients according to their medical condition and care plan.
- Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health condition.
- Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed by doctors.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing notes, patient records, medication charts, and treatment documentation.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, dressings, and emergency interventions.
- Identify changes in a patient's condition and immediately report them to the concerned doctor/nursing in-charge.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene and proper use of PPE.
- Maintain proper care and handling of medical equipment and nursing supplies.
- Ensure proper identification of patients before medication, procedures, and investigations.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care as applicable.
- Assist in emergency and critical situations and follow hospital emergency protocols.
- Educate patients and their attendants regarding medication, diet, hygiene, treatment, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing ethics.
- Ensure proper handover and takeover of patients and nursing responsibilities during shift changes.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and discipline in the assigned ward/unit.
- Report incidents, medication errors, falls, or other patient-safety concerns immediately.
- Participate in nursing audits, training programs, drills, and continuing professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, NABH requirements, and applicable nursing standards.
- Perform any other nursing-related duties assigned by the Nursing Superintendent or authorized management.

- Basic computer knowledge and ability to maintain electronic medical records.
- Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and patient confidentiality.
4. Qualification & Registration
- B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution/university.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council / Indian Nursing Council, as applicable.
- Current registration certificate must be available for verification.
- 1-4 year good experience in corporate hospital with knowledge of NABH.
