About the RoleWe are looking for a commercially driven Dry Bulk Shipbroker with experience in both broking and chartering to join our growing team.
The role will involve developing business, building strong relationships with owners and charterers, negotiating fixtures and managing the broking process from initial enquiry through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle dry bulk chartering and shipbroking activities across global markets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, charterers, operators and cargo interests.
- Source and match suitable vessels with cargo requirements.
- Negotiate freight rates, chartering terms and commercial conditions.
- Handle fixtures from enquiry and negotiation through to completion.
- Develop new business opportunities and expand the company's client network.
- Stay updated on freight markets, vessel positions,
cargo flows and market developments.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide relevant market intelligence.
- Work closely with the team to identify and maximise commercial opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in dry bulk shipbroking and/or chartering.
- Strong understanding of the dry bulk freight market.
- Established relationships with owners, charterers, operators and/or cargo interests will be an advantage.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to independently handle enquiries, negotiations and fixtures.
- Proactive approach towards developing new business and client relationships.
- Passion for shipping and a robust understanding of the dry bulk market.
