Previous work with Disney, Pixar, BBC Studios, Ludo Studio, Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Universal, DreamWorks, Netflix, Mattel, Hasbro, or equivalent companies is a major advantage.
This is a hands-on position for one professional. The selected writer will personally improve the series bible, develop and write all 108 episodes, complete all revisions, and deliver every episode in qualified English and Hindi.
This is not a supervisory position. The writer will not manage a team or distribute the work. Subcontracting, delegation, co-writing, ghostwriting, assistants, and translators are prohibited. Both language versions, all deliverables, and two revision rounds are included in the USD 30 episode fee.
ABOUT GIRAMILLE
Giramille is an international children’s and family entertainment company developing animated series, music, stories, characters, and original intellectual properties.
We seek one experienced professional to personally write 108 original seven-minute episodes for children aged 0 to 6 and family co-viewing, from improving the bible and narrative architecture through final approved scripts. The writer must ensure originality, emotional quality, character consistency, production feasibility, and continuity.
CREATIVE BENCHMARK
Our primary benchmark for narrative excellence is Bluey. We seek authentic family observations, everyday situations, imaginative play, humor for children and parents, emotional connection, concise dialogue, visual storytelling, meaningful conflicts, character development, memorable endings, international accessibility, and rewatchability.
Bluey is exclusively a quality, structure, sensitivity, and family co-viewing benchmark. Copying characters, stories, dialogue, situations, settings, or any recognizable element from Bluey or another production is prohibited. All work must be original and aligned with Giramille.
REQUIRED PROFILE The selected professional must have:
- Verifiable experience writing produced children’s or family content
- Experience as a Senior Scriptwriter, Screenwriter, Animation Writer, Story Editor, or Series Creator
- Experience with preschool, family co-viewing, short-form animation, and seven-minute episodes
- Strong command of comedy, emotion, character-driven and visual storytelling
- Experience creating or improving series bibles
- Knowledge of 2D cut-out production, rigs, asset reuse, and production feasibility
- Experience reviewing storyboards and animatics
- Professional written fluency in English and Hindi
- Multicultural sensitivity
- Capacity to personally complete approximately 22 bilingual episodes monthly

RESPONSIBILITIES The writer will personally:
- Improve the existing series bible
- Establish the architecture of all 108 episodes
- Develop all themes, premises, outlines, beats, and storylines
- Write every episode from premise to final approved script
- Deliver each episode in professional English and Hindi
- Write dialogue, visual action, emotions, acting, reactions, and gags
- Develop humor for children and an additional layer for parents
- Integrate educational and family values naturally
- Integrate existing Giramille songs when required
- Maintain character voice, vocabulary, catchphrases, behavior, relationships, and continuity
- Respect the limitations of 2D cut-out animation and existing rigs
- Review storyboards and animatics narratively
- Complete two revision rounds
- Attend reasonably necessary meetings and use the approved communication channel
- Deliver organized, numbered, and editable files
SERIES BIBLE IMPROVEMENT The writer must personally revise and improve Giramille’s existing bible before completing the full episode slate.
The revised bible must define:
- Series concept, audience, tone, universe rules, recurring locations, creative limits, child safety, family values, and co-viewing strategy
- Character personalities, wants, needs, strengths, flaws, motivations, limits, voices, vocabulary, catchphrases, humor, relationships, conflicts, continuity, and growth
- Seven-minute episode structure, timing, pacing, scene count, action, dialogue, humor, emotion, climax, resolution, and payoff
- Themes, character combinations, environments, protagonist balance, repetition control, continuity, and organization into 36 blocks
Bible improvement is included in the total scope and budget.
MANDATORY DELIVERABLES PER EPISODE The USD 30 fee includes both English and Hindi versions and:
- Premise, logline, synopsis, emotional objective, educational value, characters, outline, beats, first treatment, full screenplay, and approved version
- Dialogue, visual action, emotions, acting, reactions, eye-lines when relevant, visual and verbal gags, pacing, transitions, continuity, resolution, and payoff
- Song integration when required and basic SFX, Foley, silence, and atmosphere cues
- Production-ready writing for 2D cut-out, existing rigs, controlled character counts, asset reuse, feasible actions, new assets, and storyboard clarity
Camera angles, framing, and movement should only be indicated when essential to the story, visual gag, emotion, or scene clarity.
FILES AND FORMATS
Each episode must be delivered in professional English and Hindi, standard audiovisual screenplay format, final PDF, editable Word or equivalent file, Final Draft-compatible format when requested, correctly numbered versions, required file names, and an organized production folder.
REVISION ROUNDS
Each episode includes some revisions rounds at no additional cost:
1. Editorial review covering structure, characterization, tone, dialogue, humor, emotion, values, duration, clarity, and production feasibility.
2.
Storyboard or animatic review covering pacing, visual clarity, actions, dialogue volume, continuity, scene simplification, and emotional payoff.
Minor spelling, formatting, translation, and continuity corrections identified before final approval are included. The writer will review storyboard and animatic narratively but will not produce storyboard, animatic, voices, lip sync, animation, compositing, editing, sound design, or mastering.
NARRATIVE STANDARD
Every episode must tell a complete seven-minute story with a strong premise, clear objective, visual progression, age-appropriate humor, a layer for parents, positive family relationships, natural learning, organic emotion, and a meaningful payoff.
Scripts must respect children’s intelligence, work internationally, remain feasible for 2D cut-out, and preserve Giramille’s secure, joyful, and family-oriented identity.
MATERIALS PROVIDED
Giramille will provide the existing bible, character information, model sheets, visual references, rigs, available environments and illustrations, editorial and brand guidelines, completed songs, musical animations, defined themes when available, creative direction, consolidated feedback, and approvals.
PAYMENT AND APPROVAL
There is no advance payment. Payments will be made per approved episode or block after delivery, validation, and approval under the contract.
An episode is approved when it meets the agreed requirements for duration, originality, character consistency, narrative structure, age suitability, visual storytelling, educational value, production feasibility, English and Hindi quality, formatting, revisions, and delivery of all files.
WORK MADE FOR HIRE AND RIGHTS The engagement includes Work Made for Hire and full assignment of all applicable intellectual property rights.
All bibles, story materials, scripts, dialogue, character elements, revisions, editable files, and intermediate versions will belong exclusively to Giramille. Confidential materials may not be disclosed, reused, published, or shared without prior written authorization.
PERSONAL PERFORMANCE The selected writer must personally perform the entire scope. Subcontracting, delegation, assistants, ghostwriters, co-writers, translators, third-party sharing, and outsourcing either language version are prohibited without Giramille’s prior written authorization.
NO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Artificial intelligence of any kind is prohibited, including generative AI, large language models, automated creation or rewriting, AI translation, media generation, uploading Giramille materials to AI platforms, or using them to train systems.
All work must be original and human-created. Certification will be required. Violations may result in rejection, termination, non-payment, and contractual remedies.
SELECTION PROCESS
Shortlisted candidates may complete a brief original writing assessment. The assessment will be used only for evaluation and will not be produced or commercially exploited without a separate written agreement.
