Hiring for a Client - Altrus.ai

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer with strong hands-on AWS expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services. The ideal candidate should have strong programming fundamentals, cloud architecture knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot independently and enhance production systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python .
- Architect backend services on AWS , making appropriate decisions around application architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
- Build, integrate, and maintain REST APIs for backend applications and external integrations.
- Work with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS, and ECR .
- Develop reliable and maintainable code following clean coding and engineering practices.
- Work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB , or similar databases for application development and data management.
- Use Git-based version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Git .
- Debug production issues, analyze existing code, identify causes, and implement solutions independently.
- Work with Linux environments and use shell scripting for development and operational tasks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable,



and maintainable solutions.

Mandatory Requirements

- 7+ years of hands-on software development experience , with at least 4+ recent years of skilled Python development .
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based backend development.
- Strong working knowledge of Python and backend engineering fundamentals.
- Good understanding of AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and ECS/ECR .
- Strong ability to write and understand REST APIs .
- Experience designing and architecting scalable backend applications/services on AWS .
- Good understanding of PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB , or similar databases.
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab .
- Familiarity with Linux commands and shell scripting .
- Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to understand existing code and implement changes independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills .

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS CodeCommit and exposure to CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins , or similar CI/CD tools.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines .
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications .
- Exposure to Terraform, AWS CloudFormation , or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
