The Designers Group (TDG) is seeking an experienced Senior Designer with 20+ years of professional interior design experience to provide remote review and quality control support across our projects.
This role is focused on reviewing drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, finish selections, and design documentation to ensure accuracy, coordination, quality, and alignment with the project’s design intent.
We are looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the experience and judgment to identify potential issues before they reach the field.
## Responsibilities
- Review architectural and interior design drawings for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and design intent.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, product data, finish samples, millwork drawings, and fabrication details.
- Compare submittals against approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and design selections.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, inconsistencies, and potential coordination issues.
- Provide transparent, concise, and actionable review comments and markups.
- Verify that materials, finishes, furnishings, and products are consistent with the approved design.
- Review documentation for constructability and coordination between various project elements.
- Identify potential issues early and communicate them to the project team.
- Work closely with project managers and designers to resolve questions and maintain design quality.
- Review work produced by design teams and provide feedback when needed.
- Maintain TDG’s standards for quality, accuracy, and design excellence across multiple projects.
- Complete reviews efficiently and within established deadlines.
Qualifications
- 20+ years of professional interior design experience.
- Extensive experience with commercial interior design and construction documentation.
- Exceptional ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
- Extensive experience reviewing shop drawings and submittals.
- Strong knowledge of interior architecture, materials, finishes, millwork, furniture, lighting, and detailing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong technical judgment.
- Ability to quickly identify discrepancies and potential problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Comfortable reviewing multiple projects and managing deadlines.
- Experience in hospitality, healthcare, senior living, multifamily, workplace, or other commercial environments is preferred.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a seasoned design professional with exceptional technical knowledge and a highly developed eye for detail.
You have the experience to look at a drawing or submittal and quickly understand what is right, what is missing, and what needs to be corrected. You are confident providing constructive feedback and have the judgment to distinguish between minor issues and items that could create significant problems during construction.
This is a remote, review-focused position and is best suited for someone who enjoys using their years of experience to help maintain a high level of quality across a design team.
