About Role:
We are looking for a Senior Instructional Designer to support the development of engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences for U.S. K–12 Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs.
The Senior ID will serve as the instructional anchor for the project team, ensuring the quality, consistency, and instructional effectiveness of learning artifacts across multiple CTE clusters.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply instructional design principles, learning objectives, content chunking, and learning flow to create effective learning experiences.
- Develop clear, learner-friendly content appropriate for U.S. middle and high school learners.
- Align instructional content and activities with U.S. state standards.
- Develop detailed storyboards with clear standards alignment and developer instructions.
- Design learning experiences including microlearning, videos, simulations, scenarios, job aids, course guides, and assessments.
- Create authentic workplace scenarios that connect learning concepts to real-world careers.
- Apply instructional models such as 5E and UDL.
- Design screens, interactions, assessments, and learner activities aligned with learning objectives.
- Apply accessibility best practices, including appropriate alt text.
- Use AI tools responsibly to support content planning, drafting, improvement, and quality checks.
- Review and refine AI-generated content for accuracy, clarity, learner appropriateness, standards alignment, and instructional quality.
- Collaborate with SMEs, Content Editors, developers, and other project stakeholders to incorporate feedback and improve learning experiences.
- Work with tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Vyond, Camtasia, and PowerPoint.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of Instructional Design experience
- Strong experience in Career & Technical Education (CTE), vocational training, or related educational content
- Experience working with the U.S. K–12 education system
- Solid knowledge of instructional design principles, curriculum development, standards alignment, and assessment design
- Experience developing content for middle and high school learners
- Bachelor’s degree or higher; preferably in Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, Education Technology, or Education Leadership
Preferred Skills
- Experience with U.S. state standards and standards-aligned curriculum
- Experience working with SMEs and cross-functional project teams
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive learning practices
- Experience using AI tools in instructional design and content development
- Familiarity with eLearning authoring and multimedia development tools
