Job Title : Senior Construction Engineer

Location: On Site (Pune, Maharashtra)

Experience Required: Minimum 5 Years

Industry: Real Estate / Construction (Residential & Commercial)

- Role Objective To independently manage and supervise day-to-day civil and structural construction activities at site, ensuring execution is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and project schedule.

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for coordinating contractors, consultants and site teams and ensuring timely completion of assigned activities.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Site Execution

Supervise day-to-day civil and structural works at site.

Ensure execution strictly as per latest approved GFC/working drawings.

Check line, level, alignment, dimensions and elevations before and during execution.

Coordinate RCC, masonry, waterproofing, finishing and other civil activities.

Monitor excavation, PCC, foundations, columns, beams, slabs and other structural works.

Closely monitor complicated structural elements such as transfer beams, floating columns, inclined/Y-columns and PT slab works.

Ensure proper construction sequence and work-front availability.

Identify site constraints and resolve execution issues in coordination with the Project Head and consultants.

B. RCC & Structural Works

Check reinforcement, shuttering and embedded items before concrete pours.

Verify bar diameter, spacing, lap length, development length, cover and anchorage as per drawings.

Check shuttering dimensions, levels, supports, staging and stability.

Coordinate with the PT/RCC contractor for PT slab activities.

Ensure proper coordination between RCC reinforcement, PT tendons, sleeves and MEP services.

Prepare and maintain pre-pour inspection checklists.

Ensure concrete pouring is carried out as per approved methodology.

Monitor cube sampling, slump testing and concrete quality.

Maintain pour cards and concrete records.

C. Drawing & Technical Coordination

Study architectural, structural and MEP drawings thoroughly before execution.

Identify discrepancies and clashes between various drawings.

Raise RFIs/technical queries wherever clarification is required.

Ensure only the latest approved drawings are used at site.

Maintain drawing registers and revision records.

Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants and other agencies.

Review shop drawings and construction details from contractors.

D. Quantity & Measurement

Verify contractor measurements and work quantities.

Check RA bills against actual site execution.

Maintain daily quantity records.

Assist in preparation and verification of BOQ quantities.

Monitor material consumption against approved quantities.





Identify wastage and take corrective measures.

Prepare quantity requirements for upcoming activities.

E. Planning & Progress Monitoring

Prepare daily and weekly work plans for assigned activities.

Monitor contractor manpower, machinery and material availability.

Track planned versus actual progress.

Identify delays and immediately escalate critical issues.

Coordinate with contractors to ensure required resources are mobilised.

Support preparation of project look-ahead schedules.

Ensure activities are completed within the agreed timelines.

F. Quality Control

Ensure construction is carried out as per approved specifications and method statements.

Conduct inspections at different stages of work.

Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and testing.

Identify defective work and ensure rectification.

Monitor workmanship of RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing and finishing works.

Ensure mock-ups and samples are approved before bulk execution.

G. Safety

Ensure contractors follow project safety requirements.

Monitor housekeeping, access, scaffolding, edge protection and working-at-height safety.

Ensure safety nets, barricading and required protection systems are installed.

Immediately report unsafe practices and stop unsafe work where necessary.

Coordinate with the safety team for corrective actions.

H. Contractor Management

Coordinate with RCC, civil, finishing, MEP and specialised contractors.

Monitor contractor manpower and productivity.

Conduct regular site coordination meetings.

Follow up on contractor commitments and pending activities.

Ensure sufficient labour, material and equipment are available for planned work.

Maintain professional coordination while ensuring contractual requirements are followed.

I. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain Daily Progress Reports (DPR).

Record manpower, material, equipment and work quantities.

Maintain site inspection records and checklists.

Prepare snag/punch-point lists and monitor closure.

Maintain site instructions and technical query records.

Provide regular progress updates to the Project Head.

Maintain photographic records of important construction activities.

- Specific Responsibilities for UBB Project The candidate should be capable of handling technically demanding construction activities including:





Basement construction and excavation coordination.

High-height basement works.

Parking-level construction.

RCC frame construction.

PT slab construction and coordination.

Transfer beam execution.

Floating-column execution.

Inclined/Y-column execution.

Restaurant areas requiring detailed MEP coordination.

Office-floor repetitive construction.

Terrace parking works.

Coordination of architectural, structural and MEP services.

- Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

5–12 years of relevant construction/site experience.

Strong experience in RCC building construction.

Positive knowledge of structural and architectural drawings.

Practical knowledge of reinforcement and shuttering.

Experience in PT slab construction will be an advantage.

Good knowledge of quantity measurement and contractor billing.

Good understanding of construction sequencing and site planning.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.

Ability to independently manage site activities and contractors.
