Role Description The Senior Buyer (Retail Industry) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including identifying product needs, sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring timely delivery to support store and online operations.

The Senior

Buyer will analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and market data to optimize assortments, maintain appropriate stock levels, and improve margins. Day-to-day tasks include vendor relationship management, conducting regular supplier performance reviews, coordinating with merchandising, finance, and logistics teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards. The role also involves monitoring competitor activity,



recommending promotional strategies, and contributing to long-term category planning and retail growth initiatives.

Qualifications

- Experience in retail buying or merchandising, with a strong understanding of assortment planning, inventory management, and category performance.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Excel or similar applications, to interpret sales, margin, and stock data for buying decisions.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, including the ability to build strategic supplier relationships and secure favorable terms.
- Knowledge of retail market trends, customer behavior, and pricing strategies to support competitive positioning and product selection.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field; advanced certifications in procurement or retail are an advantage.
- Previous experience in a senior buying or category management role in the retail sector, ideally within Bengaluru or similar markets, is preferred.
