Role Description The Section in charge – COE (Safety) is responsible for driving safety excellence and compliance across operations in india. This role oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of safety standards, procedures, and best practices within the Center of Excellence (COE), working closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring safety performance, coordinating safety audits and inspections, analyzing incident trends, and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
The role also involves planning and delivering safety training programs, promoting a proactive safety culture,
and ensuring alignment with corporate Environment, Health and Safety policies and regulatory requirements. The Section in charge – COE (Safety) collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate safety into all operational decisions and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) skills, with experience in implementing safety frameworks in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Candidates should possess Occupational Health knowledge and experience in workplace risk assessment, exposure control, and worker wellbeing initiatives.
- Candidates should possess Safety Training capabilities, including designing, delivering, and evaluating safety programs for diverse employee groups.
- Candidates should possess Accident Investigation skills, including root cause analysis, incident reporting, and development of corrective and preventive action plans.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, Occupational Health, or related disciplines; skilled certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are beneficial.
- Experience in heavy industry or steel manufacturing, familiarity with Indian safety regulations and standards, and strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are preferred.
- Ability to lead safety initiatives, influence cross-functional teams, and use digital tools for safety data management and reporting will be an advantage.
