Position Title / Descriptions: Assistant Manager - Safety
Department: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Reporting To: HOD - HR
Objective To ensure a safe and healthy working workplace by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting safety awareness among employees, thereby minimizing risks and preventing accidents and maintain zero accident zone.
Responsibilities
1. Safety Compliance & Implementation
· Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and industry standards. · Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and statutory requirements.
· Support implementation of ISO 45001 or other occupational health and safety management systems.

1. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
· Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments in machining areas. · Identify unsafe conditions, machine hazards, and unsafe practices.
· Recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
3. Accident Investigation
· Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents.
· Conduct root cause analysis and prepare investigation reports.
· Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
4. Safety Training & Awareness
· Organize safety training programs for employees and contractors.
· Conduct safety induction for new employees.
· Promote safety awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.
5. Monitoring & Audits
· Conduct periodic safety audits and inspections.
· Monitor usage of PPE and compliance with safety procedures.
· Maintain safety records and documentation.
6. Emergency Preparedness
· Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
· Coordinate mock drills for fire, chemical spill, and other emergencies.
· Ensure availability and maintenance of safety equipment.
7. Regulatory & Documentation
· Maintain statutory safety records and reports.
· Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections.
· Ensure documentation for audits and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Safety Engineering / Industrial Safety / Mechanical Engineering.
Certification in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent preferred.
Experience
· 10 + years of experience in safety management in machining / manufacturing / engineering industry.
Authority A Safety Assistant Manager has the authority to enforce safety rules, stop unsafe work, and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
