Production Manager / Machine Shop Supervisor CNC Machining

Role & Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day CNC machine shop production and achieve planned production targets.

Handle VMC, HMC, VTL, CNC Turning and other machining operations.

Plan manpower, machines, tools, fixtures, and production activities.

Monitor production output, machine utilization, OEE, rejection, rework, and downtime.

Ensure production as per drawings, process sheets, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and other departments.

Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

Control rejection, scrap, rework, and process-related issues.

Monitor tool life, tool consumption, fixtures, and gauges.

Ensure proper shift planning and manpower deployment.

Drive 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, TPM and continuous improvement activities.

Maintain discipline, safety, housekeeping, and productivity on the shop floor.

Guide and develop machine operators and supervisors.

Prepare daily production reports and present production status to management.

Ensure timely completion of production schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Diploma / BE / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing Engineering.





5–12 years of experience in CNC machining / machine-shop production.

Strong hands-on experience in VMC, HMC, VTL and CNC Turning.

Experience in automotive / precision engineering / machining industries preferred.

Positive knowledge of production planning, manpower management and productivity improvement.

Knowledge of OEE, 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and TPM.

Ability to read engineering drawings and understand machining processes.

Strong leadership, problem-solving and team-management skills.

Candidates with experience independently managing a CNC machine shop will be preferred.
