Required Skills & Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Research & Development (R&D;) and general research skills, including experimental design, method development, data analysis, interpretation of results, scientific documentation, and reporting.

- Strong laboratory skills, including handling of laboratory instruments and equipment, microbial assays, biochemical assays, sample preparation, accurate record keeping, and adherence to laboratory safety and quality standards.
- Valuable foundation in peptide/protein chemistry, with specific experience or interest in antimicrobial peptide (AMP) research.
- Hands-on experience in the isolation, extraction, purification, identification, characterization, and functional evaluation of antimicrobial peptides from biological sources is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of peptide purification and analytical techniques, including chromatographic methods such as HPLC/FPLC, electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, and other relevant analytical and characterization techniques.
- Experience in antimicrobial activity evaluation, including MIC/MBC determination,



microbial inhibition assays, spectrum-of-activity studies, and mechanism-of-action investigations, will be an advantage.
- Understanding of peptide formulation, stability, bioactivity, and delivery, particularly for nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, or health applications.
- Experience in process development and scale-up of peptide production, including optimization of upstream/downstream processes, recovery, purification, yield improvement, reproducibility, and transition from laboratory scale to pilot/commercial scale.
- Ability to develop and optimize standardized processes and SOPs for isolation, purification, characterization, formulation, and scale-up.
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, quality systems, documentation, and regulatory requirements applicable to nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, or biotechnology products.
- Experience in nutraceuticals, microbiome/microbiota research, fermentation, natural products, peptide therapeutics, or related health-science fields will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and scientific documentation skills, with a high degree of attention to detail and compliance.
- Master's or PhD in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology,Pharmacology, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary R&D; teams and collaborate with microbiologists, biochemists, analytical scientists, formulation scientists, and process-development teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present scientific findings, prepare technical reports, maintain research documentation, and communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Candidates should demonstrate an industry-oriented mindset, with the ability to translate laboratory findings into reproducible, scalable, and commercially viable products.
