This is a crucial role responsible for overseeing the company’s end-to-end regulatory compliance and operational frameworks. The position demands a unique blend of regulatory acumen, and robust leadership to navigate complex environments, foster relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and ensure seamless business operations. The ideal candidate will be an experienced regulatory professional adept at executing & navigating policies and securing timely approvals from government agencies (including DoT, TRAI, TEC, UIDAI).
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance Strategy & Governance:
- Design, deliver, and continuously improve a comprehensive compliance monitoring program for all regulatory requirements across the organization, including drive audit readiness and closure of regulatory observations
- Act as the custodian for centralized corporate compliance repositories and performance dashboards to ensure data visibility for leadership.
- Monitor, analyze, and assess the operational impact of licenses, circulars, and consultation papers issued by government bodies.
- Stay updated on evolving regulatory developments, advise stakeholders on their impact, and align strategic plans accordingly.
1. Regulatory Operations & Filings:
- Oversee the end-to-end preparation, consolidation, and error-free submission of all mandatory reports / manage Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) & compliance reports.
- Work with Sales & Distribution team for PoS governance, blacklisting, and fraud-control initiatives.
- Coordinate with circle-level and centralized functions (including Network, IT, Legal, Sales & Distribution and Customer Experience) to ensure smooth and compliant business operations.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to devise and enforce robust compliance strategies.
- Implement DoT instructions for EMF compliances, Minimum Rollout obligation & PoS enrolment.
- Managing MNRL compliance and subscriber verification processes.
- Monitoring EMF self-certification and rollout obligation compliance.
- Leading API integrations and automation of regulatory workflows
1. Audit, Risk Management & Mitigation:
- Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve compliance-related issues, audit findings, and irregularities to mitigate risks.
- Lead submissions and responses to internal and external audit findings, driving root-cause investigations to identify vulnerabilities.
- Engage with internal auditors, manage identified gaps, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) frameworks to prevent systemic compliance issues.
- Develop and execute realistic corrective plans to manage and mitigate any non-compliance situations.
1. Reporting & Stakeholder Management:
- Prepare detailed compliance reports and maintain meticulous documentation of all compliance activities and metrics.
- Provide regular and periodic reporting to the Head – Regulatory Operations and Chief Regulatory Officer concerning the company's regulatory compliance posture and risk assessments.
- Address compliance-related questions and provide expert guidance to executive leadership and other staff members.
- Conduct training programs on compliance practices to enhance awareness and sensitize employees on regulatory norms and laws.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Foundation
- A Bachelor of Electronics & Communications (B.E) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)
- Additional certifications in compliance are highly preferred.
Professional Experience
- A minimum of 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in managing compliance, governance, risk, or regulatory frameworks.
- A proven track record with at least 3+ years of dedicated experience directly within the telecom industry or other highly regulated sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in navigating intricate regulatory landscapes and obtaining timely approvals and clearances from government agencies.
