- Job Purpose To ensure quality compliance during installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of Diesel Generator (DG) sets as per approved drawings, technical specifications, client requirements, and applicable standards.

Engineer will support the Erection Head in maintaining high installation standards and achieving zero rework.

- Key Responsibilities
1️⃣
- Installation Quality Control
- Verify DG foundation dimensions, level, and alignment before installation.
- Inspect unloading, shifting, and positioning of DG sets.
- Ensure correct alignment between engine and alternator.
- Monitor torque tightening as per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Verify anti-vibration mounting installation.
2️⃣
- Mechanical &
- Electrical Inspection
- Inspect exhaust piping installation and proper insulation.
- Verify fuel line installation, leak testing, and filtration systems.
- Ensure proper cable laying, termination, and gland sealing.
- Confirm earthing and grounding compliance as per standards.
- Validate control panel wiring and interlocks.

- Documentation &
- Compliance
- Review approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare and maintain Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
- Maintain quality checklists and inspection records.
- Raise NCR (Non-Conformance Report)
for deviations.
- Coordinate with client/consultant for stage inspections.
- Maintain as-built drawings and commissioning documents.
4️⃣
- Testing &
- Commissioning Support
- Witness pre-commissioning checks.
- Verify no-load and load trial test parameters.
- Ensure vibration, noise, temperature, and performance parameters meet specifications.
- Coordinate with OEM representatives during final commissioning.
5️⃣
- Coordination &
- Reporting
- Work closely with Erection Head to ensure installation timelines without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores for material verification.
- Submit daily/weekly quality reports.
- Participate in internal and client quality audits.
