PRODUCTION LEAD

ANML is a design house investigating the relationship between humans and animals. Through lifestyle products, accessories, objects and material experimentation, we explore the cultural, ecological and emotional systems that connect species.

Rather than designing for animals alone, ANML treats design as a medium of enquiry — questioning how we live with animals, how we imagine them, and how we build worlds alongside them.

The Role

We are seeking a Production Lead to take an idea from first sketch to finished object.

Working in close partnership with the Creative Director, you will own product development, sampling and vendor ecosystems across apparel, accessories and objects — translating conceptual intent into manufacturable, well-made product without dulling its edge.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development & Sampling

- Own the end-to-end development cycle — concept, prototyping, sampling, fit and colour approvals, through to production sign-off.
- Build and issue detailed tech packs, specification sheets and BOMs.
- Lead material and construction research; propose alternatives that improve cost, durability or ecological footprint.
- Maintain development calendars and ensure critical-path dates are met.

2. Vendor Sourcing & Management

- Identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers, manufacturers and craft partners across clothing, accessories and objects.
- Negotiate costings, MOQs and lead times; maintain a cost-engineering view without compromising design intent.
- Build durable, long-term relationships with the vendor base and conduct on-site visits as required.

Production & Quality

- Oversee bulk production, quality-control benchmarks and in-line inspections.
- Resolve production issues in real time, balancing timelines, cost and creative standards.
- Maintain rigorous documentation — vendor records, costings, samples and approvals.

4. Project & Team Leadership

- Lead projects end to end, coordinating across design, sourcing and external partners.
- Act as the primary channel of communication between the studio and the vendor network.
- Manage and mentor junior team members and interns as the studio grows.

Essential Requirements

- 3–5 years of product development or production experience within a lifestyle brand, design studio or manufacturer.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience across clothing and accessories.
- Proven vendor sourcing and relationship management capability.
- Fluency in building tech packs and technical specifications.
- Strong project management, communication and organisational discipline.
- Comfort operating in a young, fast-moving studio where processes are still being written.

Additional Preferences

- Exposure to furniture, home and décor categories.
- Pattern-making and garment construction knowledge.
- Working familiarity with a broad material palette — cotton, canvas, leather and leather alternatives, recycled and technical fabrics.
- Interest in sustainable materials, circularity or craft-led manufacturing.
- Genuine curiosity about animals, ecology and the questions ANML is built around.
