The candidate should have a hands-on manufacturing approach, valuable understanding of sheet metal and welding processes, strong drawing-reading ability and the capability to independently coordinate NPD activities from drawing receipt feasibility tooling/fixture development trials validation PPAP SOP handover.

- Handle New Product Development (NPD) activities from customer drawing/specification to successful production launch.

- Study customer drawings, specifications, GD&T; and technical requirements and coordinate with internal teams for feasibility.

- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and process feasibility for sheet metal stamping, and welding components for Automotive & non Automotive OEM

- Must be expert in Sheet metal stamping ,welding , machining process

- Develop and finalize process flow, operation sequence, tooling requirements and manufacturing feasibility.

- Coordinate with Tool Room / Die Development / Production / Quality / Maintenance / Purchase for new product development.

- Support development of stamping dies, fixtures, welding fixtures, gauges and poka-yoke arrangements.

- Prepare and maintain APQP, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions and other NPD documentation.

- Coordinate trial runs, tool trials, prototype development and process validation.

- Monitor dimensional results and coordinate CMM / inspection reports for development parts.





- Identify process issues during trials and implement corrective actions for dimensional, fitment, welding and functional concerns.

- Coordinate PPAP documentation and submission as per customer requirements.

- Ensure successful SOP / production handover after completion of development activities.

- Support process capability studies, MSA, Run@Rate and validation activities.

- Work on cycle-time reduction, process improvement, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

- Coordinate engineering changes, drawing revisions and implementation of ECN / change management.

- Maintain NPD timelines and ensure projects are completed within quality, cost and delivery targets.

- Participate in customer discussions related to new product development, trials and technical issues.

Required Technical Skills

- Good knowledge of sheet metal stamping / press shop processes.

- Basic to good knowledge of CO/MIG welding, spot/projection welding and welding fixtures.

- Knowledge of press tools, dies, fixtures and gauges.

- Understanding of GD&T;, engineering drawings and measurement techniques.

- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan and Process Flow.

- Ability to analyze trial/development rejection and identify root causes.

- Knowledge of AutoCAD / CATIA / SolidWorks will be an advantage.

- Good knowledge of Excel and technical documentation.

- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
