WHO ARE WE: Instituted on August 16, 2016, Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited mandated with the responsibility of executing CSR for Tata Steel. A Section 8 company, TSF is rapidly growing across Odisha, Jharkhand, Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh with over 1600+ people and presence in over 16 units. Employment Type: Contractual (FTC)
Location of Posting: Kalinganagar, Jajpur Odisha.
Purpose of the role:
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Natural Resource Management (NRM), and farmer institution development initiatives under Tata Steel Foundation programs. The role focuses on improving farm productivity, climate resilience, farmer income enhancement, and strengthening Farmer Producer Company through sustainable agriculture and government convergence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct baseline surveys, resource mapping, and climate vulnerability assessments in project villages.
- Prepare village-level agriculture development plans and ensure annual implementation strategies.
- Promote sericulture value chain initiatives and nature based solutions.
- Promote Climate Smart Agriculture practices including integrated farming system , crop diversification, agroforestry, Agro-horticulture, INM, IPM, and organic/natural farming.
- Planning and implementation of soil and water management interventions.
- Organise farmers into FIGs, PGs, and FPOs, and support their governance and business development and capacity building of these institutions.
- Facilitate convergence with government schemes/program related to agriculture, horticulture, livestock, fisheries, irrigation, and renewable energies etc.
- Organize and conduct farmer trainings, demonstrations, exposure visits, and capacity-building programs.
- Develop value chains, market linkages, agri-enterprises, and livelihood diversification opportunities.
- Liaise with government departments, KVKs, research institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, maintain MIS, and document outcomes, case studies, and success stories.
- Prepare project proposals, annual action plans, and technical reports.
- Ensure timely achievement of project targets and effective utilization of resources.
Work Experience: 3-8 Years of Relevant Experience
Minimum Qualification: Full-time Bachelor’s degree in agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture) and an allied discipline or equivalent, from a recognized University or Institute.
