The Linux System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of Linux-based servers and systems within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of Linux operating systems, networking, and system security best practices. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities:

- System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
- Monitor system performance, and resource utilization, and identify potential issues.
- Troubleshoot system problems and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure system stability, security, and high availability.
- User Management:
- Create, manage, and maintain user accounts and permissions.
- Implement and enforce security policies related to user access.
- Network Administration:
- Configure and maintain network settings, including DNS, DHCP, and routing.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Implement and maintain NTP, firewalls and other network security measures.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures for Linux systems.
- Test and restore systems from backups to ensure data integrity.
- Implement disaster recovery plans for critical systems.




- Maintain system logs and perform regular security audits.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate system administration tasks.
- Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for system administration and automation.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other IT teams, such as network engineers and security engineers.
- Provide technical support to end-users.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator (6+ years preferred).
- Robust knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky Linux).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
- Experience with system administration tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
- Scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 1
- Experience with Windows Administrator is a plus.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (Nutanix, & VMWARE) is a plus.
