Role Description We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with solid backend engineering and system design expertise to build high-performance, scalable, and resilient distributed systems. You will lead the design and development of core backend services and integration platforms while providing technical direction to the engineering team.

The ideal candidate makes confident architectural decisions for systems operating at high throughput and millisecond-level latency, with a strong understanding of the trade-offs between performance, scalability, consistency, availability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the architecture and system design of scalable, distributed backend services and integration platforms.
- Translate product and business requirements into robust technical architectures and scalable solutions.
- Design systems for high throughput, low latency, fault tolerance, and horizontal scalability.
- Drive technology and architectural decisions across APIs, services, data stores, messaging, caching, and asynchronous processing.
- Lead development using Java and Spring, with Kafka, Redis, and PostgreSQL as key platform components.
- Review code and architecture, establish engineering standards, and ensure quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges across application and data layers.
- Lead technical discussions around concurrency, distributed systems, data consistency, failure handling, and resilience.




- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, and problem-solving.
- Work closely with Product and cross-functional engineering teams to define technical approaches, estimate complexity, and deliver solutions.

Required Skills

- Experience: 8+ years of backend software engineering experience, with strong experience in designing production-grade distributed systems.
- Core Technical Expertise: Expert-level understanding of Java, including concurrency, collections, JVM behavior, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Tech Stack: Hands-on experience with Spring, Kafka, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
- System Design: Practical experience designing scalable, highly available, low-latency systems and evaluating architectural trade-offs.
- Distributed Systems: Strong understanding of messaging, asynchronous processing, caching, consistency, availability, fault tolerance, and failure recovery.
- Concurrency: Hands-on experience with Java concurrency constructs (e.g., Executors, CountDownLatch, CyclicBarrier) and asynchronous programming patterns.
- Engineering Best Practices: Proficiency in API design, integration patterns, database design, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading engineers, conducting design/code reviews, and establishing engineering standards.
- AI Tools (Plus): Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code or Cursor) with appropriate guardrails for code quality and security is a significant plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
