We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Excellence/Governance to lead and drive enterprise-wide Master Data Governance initiatives. This role is responsible for establishing governance frameworks, defining operating models, driving governance adoption, managing data quality, and ensuring consistent, accurate, and compliant master data across business functions and systems.

The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business and technology teams, working closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, IT, Enterprise Architecture, Analytics, and Business Functions to establish sustainable governance practices, improve data quality, and enable trusted business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Master Data Governance & Operating Model:

- Define, implement, and continuously improve Master Data Governance policies, standards, frameworks, and operating procedures.
- Establish and maintain the Data Governance Operating Model, including governance forums, decision-making processes, escalation paths, and accountability structures.
- Drive data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across business functions.
- Define and maintain Data Owner, Data Steward, Custodian, and Governance Council roles and responsibilities.
- Lead governance councils, working groups, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Ensure governance compliance across Customer, Vendor, Material, Product, Finance, and other master data domains.
- Promote governance adoption and embed data governance practices into business processes.

Governance Tools & Technical Governance:

- Own and drive the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Master Data Governance tools and platforms.
- Support the configuration, enhancement, and governance of workflows, approval processes, stewardship activities, and governance controls.
- Manage governance technology capabilities including Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Metadata Repository, Data Lineage, and Data Quality platforms.
- Collaborate with IT and Enterprise Architecture teams to align governance tools with enterprise data strategy.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to governance technologies, automation opportunities, and platform capabilities.

Data Quality Management & Data Audits:

- Establish enterprise data quality frameworks, standards, monitoring capabilities, and governance controls.
- Define and monitor Data Quality KPIs, scorecards, and governance metrics.
- Conduct regular data audits to identify risks, gaps, control weaknesses, and compliance issues.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring data quality issues.
- Support regulatory, compliance, internal, and external audit requirements related to master data.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve master data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.

Metadata Management, Data Catalogue & Business Glossary:

- Lead enterprise-wide metadata management initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Business Glossaries, Data Dictionaries, and Metadata Standards.
- Ensure business definitions are aligned across systems, reports, and business functions.
- Drive adoption of enterprise Data Catalog capabilities using tools such as Microsoft Purview or similar platforms.




- Promote standardized business terminology and data definitions across the organisation.

Data Modelling, Mapping & Data Lineage:

- Develop and govern enterprise data models, master data structures, and domain relationships.
- Maintain end-to-end data lineage across source systems, ERP platforms, integrations, data warehouses, and reporting solutions.
- Ensure consistency between business definitions, data models, integration mappings, and reporting requirements.
- Support data mapping, transformation, and harmonization initiatives during business and system projects.
- Partner with analytics and reporting teams to ensure trusted and traceable data usage.

Analytics Governance:

- Establish governance standards for reporting, analytics, datasets, semantic models, and dashboard solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data governance principles across enterprise analytics platforms, including Power BI.
- Govern report lifecycle management, security roles, data refresh processes, and access controls.
- Collaborate with reporting and business intelligence teams to ensure trusted data consumption.
- Support governance of business metrics, KPI definitions, and reporting standards.

Change Management, Training & Adoption:

- Develop and execute Data Governance awareness, communication, and adoption programmes.
- Deliver governance training for Data Owners, Data Stewards, and business stakeholders.
- Create governance guidance materials, training documentation, and user enablement resources.
- Drive organisational change management activities supporting governance maturity and transformation initiatives.
- Measure governance adoption and continuously improve stakeholder engagement strategies.

Technical Documentation & Standards:

- Develop, maintain, and govern governance documentation including:
- Governance Frameworks
- Policies and Standards
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Data Standards
- Data Quality Rules
- Business Rules
- Data Models
- Data Lineage Documentation
- Process Documentation
- Governance Operating Procedures
- Ensure all governance artefacts remain current, controlled, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Governance, Data Quality, or Enterprise Data Management.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks, Data Stewardship, Data Ownership, Metadata Management, and Data Quality Management.
- Experience implementing or administering MDM and Data Governance platforms such as:

1. Profisee.
2. Informatica.
3. Collibra.
4. SAP MDG.
5. Ataccama.
6. Similar enterprise platforms.
7. Microsoft Purview.





- Experience working within ERP ecosystems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or comparable environments.
- Strong knowledge of:

1. Data Mapping.
2. Data Lineage.
3. Metadata Management.
4. Data Catalogue Management.
5. Business Glossary Management.
6. Data Auditing.
7. Data Modelling.

- Experience defining governance processes and operating models across multiple business functions.
- Solid stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services and Microsoft Purview.
- DAMA, DCAM, DGSP, CDMP, Power BI, or related Data Governance certifications.
- Experience supporting global master data governance and digital transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working within manufacturing, procurement, finance, supply chain, or commercial data domains.
