Role Description This is a full-time, on-site KDB+ Developer role based in the Pune Division. The KDB+ Developer will design, develop, and maintain time-series data solutions using kdb+/q to support trading, risk, and analytics platforms for financial services clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include building high-performance data ingestion and processing pipelines, optimizing queries, and ensuring data quality, consistency, and availability across complex environments.
The role involves collaborating closely with business analysts, architects, and other developers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions,
as well as troubleshooting production issues and improving system reliability. The KDB+ Developer will also contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Capco’s engineering standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in KDB+/q development, including design and implementation of time-series databases and high-performance data pipelines.
- Experience with capital markets or broader financial services domains, particularly trading, market data, risk, or regulatory reporting.
- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and SQL or NoSQL databases, with practical experience in data modeling and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with software engineering practices such as version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, CI/CD, and code review workflows.
- Familiarity with programming languages commonly used alongside KDB+ (such as Python, Java, or C++) for integration and tooling.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems, work with large data sets, and deliver robust, scalable solutions under time constraints.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and interact with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
