- Contract labour management and contractor compliance.
- Knowledge of applicable labour laws and factory regulations.
- PF, ESIC, gratuity, bonus, wages, leave, attendance, payroll, and statutory registers.
- Handling labour inspections, audits, notices, and liaison with government authorities.
- Recruitment, onboarding, manpower planning, training,
performance management, and employee engagement.
- Disciplinary proceedings, grievance handling, counselling, and conflict resolution.
- HRIS/HRMS and ERP knowledge, preferably SAP or a similar system.
- Coordination with safety, security, administration, transport, canteen, medical, housekeeping, and welfare functions.linkedin 2
Important behavioural skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to handle unions, contractors, local communities, and government officials.
- Practical knowledge of shop-floor HR rather than only corporate HR.
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve workforce issues quickly.
- Fluency in Hindi and preferably Chhattisgarhi/local communication; working knowledge of English.
- Willingness to work full-time at the plant and manage emergencies or shift-related requirements.
Typical responsibilities
- Prepare manpower plans for operations, maintenance, projects, and support departments.
- Recruit and deploy permanent, temporary, and contract employees.
- Manage attendance, payroll inputs, leave, employee records, and HR reporting.
- Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, wages, bonus, gratuity, contract labour, and factory-related requirements.
- Maintain healthy industrial relations and negotiate with unions or worker representatives.
- Manage contractors, labour supply agencies, and contract-worker documentation.
- Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, domestic enquiries, and labour disputes.
- Coordinate plant administration, security, transport, canteen, housing, and welfare facilities.
- Conduct training, induction, skill development, and performance-review activities.
- Liaise with the Labour Department, Factory Inspectorate, PF/ESIC offices, and other authorities.
