Inaara NeoFoods is building India’s first farm-to-formulation platform for plant derived functional nutrients for everyday food by partnering with F&B; companies (domestic as well as exports) to develop scalable, clean-label and commercially viable food solutions. Role Overview The Head of Applications / R&D; will build the product innovation, formulation and application science across protein, functional ingredient and nutrition categories. Create and maintain the Formulation IP Registry and be the primary technical interface with our B2B customers during co-development. This role will be responsible for translating ingredient technologies into commercially successful food applications while building a world-class applications laboratory.

Qualifications

- Master’s or PhD in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.




- 8-10 years of hands-on formulation experience specifically with plant protein ingredients (soy, pea, chickpea, or pulse proteins).
- Experience in a B2B ingredient company, food R&D; lab, or CSIR research on flour, food ingredients, application development or R&D;

Key Responsibilities

(1) Application Lab Design

- Design and procure the full instrument set for the Application Lab
- Establish Standard Operating Procedures and ensure regulatory food safety compliances

(2) Product Development & Innovation

- Lead formulation and application development across generic flour, biscuits, bakery and other everyday foods.
- Develop prototypes demonstrating functionality and commercial viability of ingredients by optimizing taste, texture, stability and nutritional performance
- Drive innovation pipelines aligned with customer and market needs

(3) Scale-Up & Commercialization

- Support pilot and commercial-scale production through successful transfer of formulations from lab to production
- Work directly with B2B customers to solve formulation challenges. Translate their requirements into scalable product solutions
- Support sales through demonstrations, trials and customer presentations.

(4) Team Building

- Recruit and mentor food technologists, formulation scientists and application specialists.
- Build a culture of innovation, speed and scientific excellence
