Company Description Shail Vac Engineers designs, manufactures, and operates industrial systems that eliminate liquid discharge, ranging from single vacuum ejectors to full-scale Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plants. Founded in Surat in 1987, the company has delivered over 500 evaporation plants and 10,000 vacuum systems to more than 300 clients in 30+ countries. Its portfolio includes ZLD systems, Multiple Effect Evaporators (MEE), Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), ejectors, turnkey EPC projects, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) contracts.

Engineers serves industries such as pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, dyes and intermediates, agro chemicals, and food and dairy, and was the first in India to commission an MVR evaporation plant for a CETP. The company operates plants 24/7 year-round through its dedicated O&M; division, offering long-term, technology-driven partnerships to clients.
:
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
•Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
•Maintain the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank and cash transactions.
•Ensure proper accounting of project-related expenses, purchases, subcontractor bills, and other operational costs.
•Perform monthly closing of books and ensure all necessary provisions, accruals, and adjustments are recorded.
•Review accounting entries and ensure proper documentation and supporting bills are maintained.
•Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and accounting professionals whenever required.
2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
•Handle and monitor GST, TDS, Income Tax and other applicable statutory compliances.
•Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS returns and other statutory returns.
•Reconcile GST input/output and resolve discrepancies.
•Ensure proper TDS deductions, payments and certificates.
•Coordinate with tax consultants/CA for tax assessments, audits and other statutory matters.
•Keep the management informed about significant tax/compliance requirements and deadlines.
3. Project Finance & Costing
Since the company operates in the water-treatment/project-based industry, the candidate will be responsible for monitoring the financial performance of projects.
•Track project-wise revenue, expenses, material costs, labour/subcontractor costs and other project expenses.
•Prepare and monitor project-wise profitability.
•Compare actual project costs against budgets/estimates.
•Identify cost overruns and highlight financial risks to management.
•Assist management in project costing, quotations and commercial evaluation.
•Monitor project billing, work orders, advances, retention money and receivables.
4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
•Prepare and monitor regular cash-flow statements.
•Plan payments based on available funds and business priorities.
•Monitor customer collections and outstanding receivables.
•Follow up with the concerned teams/customers for timely collections.
•Monitor vendor payments and outstanding payables.
•Ensure sufficient working capital is available for ongoing projects and operations.
•Provide management with regular updates on cash position and upcoming financial commitments.
5. Accounts Receivable & Payable
•Maintain accurate customer and vendor ledgers.
•Monitor ageing of receivables and payables.
•Prepare regular Debtors and Creditors Ageing Reports.
•Follow up on overdue customer payments.
•Verify vendor invoices, purchase bills and supporting documents before processing payments.
•Ensure proper reconciliation of customer/vendor accounts.
6. MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare and present regular financial reports to management, including:
•Monthly Profit & Loss Statement
•Balance Sheet
•Cash Flow Statement
•Receivables & Payables Ageing
•Project-wise profitability
•Budget vs. Actual expenditure
•Outstanding customer collections
•Vendor payment position
•Tax and statutory liability position
•Monthly financial performance summary
7. Banking & Finance
•Manage day-to-day banking activities.
•Prepare bank reconciliations.
•Coordinate with banks for routine banking requirements.
•Monitor bank balances, payments and receipts.
•Assist management with working-capital requirements, banking facilities and financial documentation, where applicable.
8. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
•Establish basic but effective financial controls suitable for a small organization.
•Ensure proper approval processes for purchases, expenses and payments.
•Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
•Identify gaps in accounting and financial processes and recommend improvements.
•Help the company establish scalable finance processes as the business grows.
