Job Summary

Supports the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of plant equipment, facilities, buildings, and grounds. The role provides hands-on technical support for electrical, automation, HVAC, mechanical, building, fire/life safety, and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

The position also supports facility projects, equipment installations, commissioning, contractor management, preventive and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role works closely with operations, engineering, mechanical, instrumentation, and other cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and facility standards.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical, Automation &

- Facilities Maintenance

- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, drives, instrumentation, control circuits, and associated equipment.
- Monitor the functioning and condition of plant and building systems, including electrical, HVAC, structural, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
- Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and plant uptime.
- Diagnose electrical, automation, instrumentation, and control system failures using structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Maintain and troubleshoot test cell electrical systems, controllers, dynamometers, and related support equipment.
- Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs;, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
- Execute scheduled maintenance plans and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Document completed repairs, maintenance activities, equipment history, and technical findings accurately.

Projects, Installation &

- Commissioning

- Support and lead assigned facility renovation, modernization, expansion, and improvement projects of moderate complexity.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors for mechanical, structural, HVAC, electrical, production floor arrangement, and other facility projects.
- Support new equipment and facility installations, commissioning, validation, and performance testing.
- Prepare or support technical specifications, project documentation, contractor scopes of work, RFAs, and related project documents.
- Ensure projects are executed safely and meet defined quality, cost, scope, and schedule requirements.
- Monitor project progress and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to resolve issues and maintain timelines.

Safety, Compliance &

- Emergency Preparedness

- Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, LOTO procedures, work permit requirements, and applicable HSE standards.
- Support compliance with applicable environmental, facility, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and support emergency preparedness systems and processes for events such as power outages, fire, flooding, and other site emergencies.
- Identify facility and equipment risks, report system impairments, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a solid safety culture and ensure maintenance and project activities are conducted in accordance with Cummins safety requirements.
- Support environmental sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.

Reliability &

- Continuous Improvement

- Develop and improve maintenance procedures, standard work instructions, and reliability improvement plans.
- Conduct equipment failure analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support TPM, predictive maintenance,



reliability improvement, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve facility and equipment efficiency, reliability, and operating cost.
- Drive or support energy conservation and sustainability projects aligned with business and environmental objectives.

Asset, Vendor &

- Spare Parts Management

- Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), service providers, and maintenance contractors as assigned.
- Support spare parts planning, inventory management, procurement, and coordination with stores.
- Maintain accurate records for equipment, maintenance activities, spare parts, service contracts, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate procurement and service requirements to ensure timely availability of critical maintenance resources.

Team &

- Stakeholder Collaboration

- Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, mechanical, instrumentation, engineering, and other functional teams.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians, operators, and line workers on basic repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance requirements.
- Train, mentor, and guide technicians and operators on maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and safety requirements.
- Support shift operations and provide maintenance coverage as required.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and service providers to resolve facility and equipment issues.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electrical &
- Electronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience .
- Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electrical &
- Electronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience .
- Relevant technical certifications in electrical safety, automation, facilities, or maintenance are preferred.
- Applicable licenses or certifications required by local regulations may be necessary.

Skills

- Strong hands-on knowledge of industrial electrical and automation maintenance.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, drives, instrumentation, sensors, control circuits, and industrial control systems.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical panels, control systems, instrumentation, and power distribution equipment.
- Working knowledge of test cell electrical systems, controllers, dynamometers, and related support equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, SLDs, P&IDs;, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical codes, standards, LOTO, electrical safety, and maintenance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies.
- Experience with maintenance planning, equipment reliability, TPM, and continuous improvement.
- Project coordination and contractor management skills.
- Ability to prepare technical specifications, work scopes, maintenance procedures, and project documentation.

Experience

- 8+ years of relevant experience with a BE/B.Tech degree, or 10+ years with a relevant diploma.
- Significant hands-on experience in industrial electrical, automation, facilities, or plant maintenance.
- Experience with preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, drives, instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment.
- Experience supporting facility projects, equipment installation, commissioning, modernization, or plant expansion.
- Experience coordinating contractors, AMCs, suppliers, and service providers.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing, engineering, testing, or industrial environment.
- Experience implementing reliability, TPM, Kaizen, energy conservation, or other continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
- Experience mentoring technicians and operators and providing technical guidance is preferred.
