Job Summary To oversee and execute quality inspection and physical testing activities from raw material receipt through in-process stages to finished cable products, ensuring compliance with applicable national, international, and customer specifications. The role is responsible for accurate testing, inspection, documentation, maintaining quality records, supporting customer inspections and audits, and ensuring consistent product quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Working knowledge and application of IEC 60840, IEC 62067, and IS 7098 (Part 3) standards.
2. Conduct physical testing of finished products as per applicable national, international, and customer specifications.
3. Carry out inspection, checking, and testing of raw materials as per approved specifications and quality requirements.
4. Perform in-process quality inspection and testing at various stages of cable manufacturing.
5. Conduct final inspection and testing of finished cables prior to release/dispatch.
6. Prepare and maintain raw material inspection reports and in-process inspection reports with proper traceability.
7. Perform weight analysis of finished cables and verify compliance with specified requirements.

Conduct all applicable physical tests and maintain accurate test records, reports, and relevant quality documentation.
9. Handle and coordinate customer inspections, including arranging samples, documents, testing facilities, and required quality records.
10. Carry out vendor development and supplier quality activities, including visits to recent and existing vendor premises for evaluation and quality assessment.
11. Participate in and handle external audits related to ISO, NABL, and BIS, including preparation of required documents, coordination during audits, and closure of audit observations/non-conformities.
12. Identify and report quality deviations and non-conformities and coordinate with concerned departments for corrective and preventive actions.
13. Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Vendors, and Customers on quality-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
14. Ensure proper maintenance, traceability, and control of inspection and testing records in accordance with the applicable quality management system.
15. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality, reducing defects, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
