– Executive – Design (AUTOCAD)

Events Department

Location: Kothrud - Pune

Position Overview The Executive – Design (AutoCAD Specialist) is responsible for creating accurate and detailed technical drawings, layouts for all university events. This role supports event planning, production, and operations by translating creative concepts into executable design layouts, ensuring precise coordination between design intent and on-ground implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Event Layout & Technical Drawings

- Prepare detailed 2D layouts and technical schematics for event setups, including stage, seating, branding, and infrastructure.
- Develop precise CAD drawings based on site measurements, event concepts, and approved designs.
- Maintain standardized drawing templates for recurring event formats.

Site Surveys & Measurements
- Conduct venue /site visits to take accurate measurements.
- Document site conditions, electrical points, entry/exit routes, and technical constraints.
- Incorporate survey data into final design layouts.

Collaboration with Internal & External Stakeholders
- Work closely with event planners, production managers, and vendors to ensure designs are feasible, protected, and cost-effective.
- Provide design files, dimension drawings, and technical specifications to vendors for fabrication and setup.

Compliance & Safety Considerations
- Ensure designs comply with safety, accessibility, and statutory regulations.
- Integrate emergency exits, fire safety equipment,



and accessibility features in all layouts.

File Management & Documentation

- Maintain a central repository of CAD drawings, design revisions, and event-specific templates.
- Ensure all project files are updated, backed up, and accessible to the event team.

Support in On-Ground Execution
- Provide on-site design support during event setup to ensure execution matches approved plans.
- Make real-time adjustments to layouts if required.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Proficiency – Advanced skills in AutoCAD (2D), SketchUp, and other design tools.

Attention to Detail – High accuracy in measurements and drafting.

Event Layout Understanding – Knowledge of stage design, seating arrangements,

branding placements, and technical zones.

Collaboration Skills – Ability to work with creative, technical, and operational teams.

Time Management – Ability to handle multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Event Design, or related field.
- 3 – 4 years of professional experience in AutoCAD drafting, preferably in event design,

exhibitions, or interior layouts.
- Strong portfolio of CAD drawings and event layouts.

Working Conditions

- Flexible working hours based on event schedules.
- On-site presence required during major event setups.
- May involve travel between campus venues and off-site event locations.
